Vinegar liquid portion is part of the base game but there's no vanilla way to craft it. Most people get their vinegar recipes from the immensely popular Expanded Foods mod by l33tmaan, which is broken with the VS 1.21.x patch.
This mod was created by stripping down all of the folders and files in Expanded Foods v1.7.4 to remove everything but the vinegar portion recipes (plus veggie pickling), then debugging until the error msgs stopped. Since it is stripped down to only a few recipe files, it has no dependencies. I assume once EF is working in VS 1.21.x it will be incompatible with EF.
I made this because ACA+EF's author has their work cut out for them getting ACA and EF updated to VS 1.21.x. It could be a while. Someone in EF's comment section responded to someone whining about updates that if they want it updated sooner, they should learn how to code and update it themself. I'm taking on that suggestion, since I just need the "vinegar from wine recipe" and ability to pickle veggies with vinegar to limp along without EF+ACA proper.
If original mod author(s) want me to change anything or delete this listing after (or before) EF and ACA are functional again I will immediately do so. In the mean time, I hope this takes a little pressure off getting them up-to-date.
Here are some other mods I've used to fill the culinary hole EF has left:
Variations on a Meal - allows for all kinds of sensical mix and matches foods, including "Milk and wine/cider/ale can be used as liquid base for soup with appropriate nutrition."
Bone Marrow Soup - Not quite a replacement for EF's bone broth but it's at least a bone-based soup option I'm working on.
Egg Pie (Quiche) - Adds egg pie as an option and allows eggs to be used in meat pie
Bushmeat Recipe - allows the addition of bushmeat to soups, stews, and pies
Basic Bushcraft - allows bushmeat (raw and salted) and cooked meats to be added to soups and stews, as well as bone broth in the form of bone for soup base instead of vegetable-only. However this mod also has a lot of other things going on.

stripped EF down to only the vinegar portion recipes and pickling veggies with vinegar. I don't really know what I'm doing. | ||||||
traugdor I don't think so? Unless Expanded Foods changed it without me realizing.
Does this change the wine recipes as well? just asking to see if I need to hold off installing until my current batches of wine are done.
Standalone Bone Broth now available (sorta) with Bone Marrow Soup ! It's functional but got some kinks to work out
With 1.21 making pitch glue a liquid in the cooking pot I'm wondering if we can just do away with ACA's cauldron and have a standalone bone broth mod so we can add a little protein in our soups.
Nico_Nico_Nyx What is it about bone broth you're wanting? EF's bone broth as a standalone liquid you can use as substitute for water is made using ACA's tools so there isn't really a way to isolate that. BasicBushcraft has a recipe that lets you use bone as a base stock in soups at least.
What I would do to get a bone broth only mod T^T, thanks for this
WillowTheSinner thanks! I was a little unsure of posting this since I didn't get permission from the EF author but I also don't want to bother them since they're definitely getting pestered by a lot of people about updating the mod. If I get their blessing I might try splitting off more EF/ACA recipes but I'm not sure what other recipes people would want split off that aren't dependent on the tools from ACA.
Very awesome and cool of you. I'd look forward to more split recipies from EF, so people can pick and choose what they want and don't want from EF while we wait on them to update.
