"Before the calamity. Before the rot set in. Before the Blackguards and the Forlorn Hope marched.
There was an age of wealth and power — master craftsmen forged blades fit for kings, knights grew fat on coin and blood, women wove their own webs of influence, and lords ruled with iron hands.
Wars raged in the name of the king, calling the boldest and the strongest to seize glory — or die chasing it.
That meant every blacksmith, craftsman, and worker strove to give their best. The most skilled members of the guilds approached the status of scholars and devoted their entire lives to perfecting the crafts they were so deeply committed to.
In these times, armors of unquestionable quality appeared, forged with techniques that only the greatest of masters could replicate.
All of this, of course, is now lost to time.
What remains are a few forgotten scrolls, passed down through generations scarred by hardship and suffering, now left to rot on dust-choked shelves and in the deepest shadows of abandoned strongholds.
Only a handful of these schematics survived the devastating scourge of rot, scattered across the broken world — waiting to be unearthed, claimed, and brought back to glory!
The forge of excellence and perfection awaits you — step forward, and let your hands reignite the flame that shapes destiny."

This series of mods aims to introduce historically inspired armors into the game.
This is the next part in a multi-part series. This one is dedicated to the Landsknecht sellswords.
Armors added by this mod are improved versions of the vanilla items, which serve as the base for crafting these modded armors.
The Landsknecht outfit should be overall improvement on the in game Brigandine armor.
For each armor, you will need a specific schematic, which can be found in newly generated ruins or may appear at the Treasure Trader once he restocks after you install this mod.
Due to the rarity of these schematics, their price won’t exactly be a bargain.
Anyway, tas always, have fun.
I’m aware that the recipes are VERY expensive, and that’s intentional — these armors represent very late-game technology. On the bright side, once crafted, the armor is easy to maintain.
Of course, all feedback is welcome, and the availability of this armor in survival mode can be rebalanced in the future if there’s enough pushback.
Compatibilities:
Combat Overhaul
Useful Traders
Hope you enjoy!

From the Memoirs of Grandmagister Cardinalis Thomas IX. The Pure
[Scene: Midday in the forge. The sun spills through the high windows.
In the back corner, Thomas, now older, stronger, and clearly more
skilled than years before, is sewing. On the table lies a vibrant, puffed-and-slashed
Landsknecht-style doublet with bits of brigandine plates sewn inside.
Bright colors, ribbons, and flourishes offend the grim, plate-loving air of the workshop.]
[Master Eldred enters from the main room, holding a polishing
rag and humming contentedly. He stops. The humming dies. His eye twitches.]
Master Eldred (low, dangerous voice):
...Thomas.
What… are you doing.
Thomas (without looking up):
Just… working on a commission, master.
Master Eldred:
That… is cloth.
In my workshop.
Where plate is born.
Where steel sings.
And you…
you bring in thread.
Thomas (shrugs):
Not just thread. Some plates are sewn inside—brigandine, master. It’s armor.
Master Eldred (outraged, pacing):
Armor!? You call this puffed parade peacock’s shirt armor!?
Where are the ridges? The fluting? The plates shaped to dance with the body?
No! This—this is a garment! This belongs on a court jester, not on the battlefield!
Thomas (calmly):
You’d be surprised, master. Soldiers these days… they like to boast.
Show off their sword skills, look flashy… rather than hide behind full plate.
Master Eldred (clutching chest like stabbed):
Boast!? Show off!? The only thing worth showing off is not being dead!
A good suit of plate does not boast. It declares.
It says: "Strike me, fool, and feel your steel bend."
Thomas:
It says: “Here comes a walking oven,” in the summer heat.
These Landsknechts… they move fast, they intimidate with
colors, and they’ve got the swagger to match.
Master Eldred:
Swagger!? Colors!?
War is not a carnival, Thomas!
The enemy should tremble at the gleam of polished steel—
not wonder if you’re about to sell them roasted chestnuts!
[Eldred throws up his arms in exasperation.
Thomas smiles faintly, then feigns sudden realization.]
Thomas (innocently):
Master… speaking of gleaming steel—
Didn’t you leave that fluted Gothic harness out on the west rack…
right where the sunlight hits it in the afternoon?
[Master Eldred freezes. His eyes widen.]
Master Eldred:
The west rack…
The west rack?
In this humidity!?
[Without another word, Eldred bolts toward the display room,
muttering about “spotting,” “surface rust,” and “death to the
fool who leaves armor in the damp.” His heavy steps fade.
Thomas exhales in relief, grins, and keeps sewing, the rhythmic
sound of the needle filling the now peaceful forge.]
Thomas (muttering to himself):
Plate or cloth… as long as the coin’s good.
And maybe a bit of swagger isn’t the end of the world.
[Scene fades with the faint clink of plates being
sewn into fabric and distant curses from Eldred in the other room.]

AladarCZ thank you! : D
ChiefKrogan Enjoy the 1.2.2 version then :-) Its out now
AladarCZ honestly whatever with the bear variants for it. With how the base armor looks this is probably something that will come to you in a dream, in a few weeks time, as a stroke of genious. I would love the stat adjustments tho as this is my fav armor of yours, but I'm biased since I genrally love how Landsknechts looked. Not that I know much about them.
ChiefKrogan yep, its comming im just stuck creatively on the bear variants. Ill probably ditch them for now and just release the stat rebalance. But Landsknecht is supposed to be fastest and overall most agile from the brigadine armor variants and i will add the healing effectivness.
Is perhaps an update coming to this one too? 👀
And +1 on the healing effectiveness. This is supposed to be an armor for a hunter or anybody preferring ranged, no? Unless I got it wrong. But if it is, it would make sense for it to have something to offset less defence.
armor is super beautiful but it lose from every stat compare to hussar
i know hussar is much more expensive and difficult to make but i think this armor need to have atleast one superior stat which better than other armor
how about healing effectiveness?
Japanese, Roman, Nordic, Cuman, dinasty amors ideas for you!
Such as armor used by musket troops.
the word is rich in armors and lore i have a bunch of reference if you need here
This armor is so gaudy I love it.
Makes me wanna get back into fencing :D
I Love your mods, U Should think of making a Tropical Theme one, Like Aztec or some other Tropical themed Armor.
I Love your Work u Do. All of your mods are on my Server --> WISPS Public
Everyone here says they are Sick. Thanks for the work you do, i hope to see more armors come out !
Fantastic, thank you.
RyothStormsEdge Sure thing, i simpy googled Landsknechts and got carried away in the images section :-)

Would it be possible for me to see your references for this set?
captanredbeard
Captain! ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ
I report that Major Dupe was suspended from duty for an undisclosed period of time.
Thank you for your imput. Should be fixed in 1.1.3
subarmalis

looks similar, fancy colours of Late Roman Empire underarmor. and armour,

I love the colours and patterns of these.
AladarCZ
Major dupe with the Landsknecht schematic. Craft the rolled version of the blueprint, and when you attempt to craft from the rolled variant back into the normal one, the rolled blueprint is not consumed.
This means that after the first bluepring is bought, you can dupe the blueprint infinitely.
AladarCZ Thank you! Love your mod!
tRead Thanks for the offer! I create textures kinda naturally when creating the model of the armor, so both files are created kinda at the same time in one process. So im not sure how would i be able to utilize your help right now. But the intent is very apreciated.
Blinchix Yes! you can go into the mod and look for "patches" folder, inside there is a file fa-landsknecht-treasurehunter.json, you can open it in the notepad. look for
that means the average price can be 180 with 20 deviation so anything from 160 to 200, you can change "var" to 0 and "avg" to any desired value. Im not sure it will be noticable imidiately, you will probably see the change after the trader changes stock.
any way to edit the prices of schematics from traders?
beautiful! do you need help with the json files for the roadmap? I know nothing about modeling, but could maybe help with textures.
Amazing, thank you for your hard work!
now we only need 17th century half plates and clothes
Silver_UT So i looked into it, there were some texture glitches. I managed to fix thoose thanks to Maltiez from Combat Overhaul and now i released new versions of all my mods that should be compatible hopefully unitl at least 1.22. comes out
AladarCZ
Thank you! Great mod!
Nice work 💜
B0YAR Whoopsie, typo! Thanks for the message, fixed in 1.1.1.
AladarCZ
Game version: 1.20.12
Mod version: 1.1.0
All cash and modconfig is clear
Thank you AladarCZ.. I look forward to seeing them! You are incredibily talented developer. <3
Silver_UT I didnt test it yet. I have in my other mod compatibilities listed for early 1.21. versions, but there were some changes done to the armor code, so i want to wait for the full release to test and update accordingly. I dont think using it in 1.21 would break your game but there might be some glitches. I definetly recommend to make a backup of your world if you want to try it and let me know if there is something broken.
Frolix and RamenBard Theese armors arent on the roadmap yet, but there is a surprise mod comming in a next few weeks that tackles two non european armors, but for that you will have to wait and see, it is almost finished.
<3 Very good.
I know it is not in your plans, but would there ever be any armor variations that are from outside of Europe? (Forgive me if any listed are)
is it compatible with 1.21.0-rc.4 ?
I love all the armor mods you are making, each one of them are beyond speechless, I hope you will continue making these mods, but I do have a suggestion, perhaps armors for the turkiye or Ottomon empire? especially the Janissary of the 16th century.
Chazzy Overall good points, feel free to patch and meddle with my mods as you wish, im very open to it, all i ask is to credit the original mods so more people can hear about them :-)
1. Combat overhaul patch is right now pretty wonky, i admit, mainly because of the stats and because my armors occupy all the slots, kinda going against the purpouse of the CO mod im planning to start working on improving that in the future.
2. This is something that came up in my head multiple times during development.. like HOW cool would that be if you could mix and match armors from different mods. BUT adding the alternate texture could be eventually nightmare for the performance because it essentialy doubles the original number of generated items for every texture variant... evenually if someone would want to have the whole collection of my mods installed he would potentially reach thousands of item variations. With alternate textures added it would create multiples of thousands VERY easily (iirc there is arround 10 000 items in the vanilla game currently in total, so.. yea..)
But making a patch that replaces the original textures would be good alternative, negating the necessity to generate mor item variants. Im all in for you to go for it!
... Im also very sorry beforehand. While creating textures i took multiple shortcuts.. so it wont be that intuitive to work with as with the vanilla armors.
I quite adore the mods you release. They all look beautiful and artistic. However, I have a request I hope will not be bothersome
An alternative version of the mods texturing would be awesome, maybe a seperate patch?
It'd be really nice if all the armor had the same texturing as the vanilla sets, like to match the steel armor and so on. I have no idea if it would mess with the look of the armor, and make it distasteful, but I think it might have some nice potential for a couple reasons
If this is highly inconvenient for you, which I can only assume given the extensive list you provide in the current roadmap, I would like to ask permission to create a patch myself with the seperate textures to upload on the DB
Ultimately, thank you for the mods you provide, Truly unique.
Thanks all for the encouragement! Glad you like it!
Puxido Its definetly planned.. but also, thats the pickle. This is mostly one man operation (fueled by discord knowledge of course, thanks all the kind souls out there who guided me the right way).
So it takes a long time to release a mod and there is so much potential to cover. However i would love to do some lighter armor variants. Morions and kettlehelmets will definetly come some day, they are too iconic to not be put in some mod. I would like to do English longbowmen, Spanish conquistadors and czech Hussite variants... but it will take time to get there
Your work is incredible. True art
This mod is amazing! But I feel the need to ask, are you guys ever going to make a mod that uses lesser armed armor varieties like kettle helmets with gorgets and the like? Or maybe spanish Morion helmets and gear?
As soon as I saw 'Landsknechts' I knew I had to see this mod. I am not disapointed! Beautiful! Looks just like what I would expect from the art representations of that style interpreted into VS. Wonderful! My crops are watered. The birds are singing. The cat is purring. The world is healing!! Spectacular!
Your work is beautiful! Thank you
Oh hell yes
