"Before the calamity. Before the rot set in. Before the Blackguards and the Forlorn Hope marched.
There was an age of wealth and power — master craftsmen forged blades fit for kings, knights grew fat on coin and blood, women wove their own webs of influence, and lords ruled with iron hands.
Wars raged in the name of the king, calling the boldest and the strongest to seize glory — or die chasing it.
That meant every blacksmith, craftsman, and worker strove to give their best. The most skilled members of the guilds approached the status of scholars and devoted their entire lives to perfecting the crafts they were so deeply committed to.
In these times, armors of unquestionable quality appeared, forged with techniques that only the greatest of masters could replicate.
All of this, of course, is now lost to time.
What remains are a few forgotten scrolls, passed down through generations scarred by hardship and suffering, now left to rot on dust-choked shelves and in the deepest shadows of abandoned strongholds.
Only a handful of these schematics survived the devastating scourge of rot, scattered across the broken world — waiting to be unearthed, claimed, and brought back to glory!
The forge of excellence and perfection awaits you — step forward, and let your hands reignite the flame that shapes destiny."

This series of mods aims to i
ntroduce historically inspired armors into the game.
This is the first release in a multi-part series. This one is dedicated to the Greenwich legacy.
Armors added by this mod are improved versions of the vanilla items, which serve as the base for crafting these modded armors.
Greenwich armor is sligthly more durable than classic plate version, you walk with it slightly faster, but the rich decorations are obstructing shooting range.
For each armor, you will need a specific schematic, which can be found in newly generated ruins or may appear at the Treasure Trader once he restocks after you install this mod.
Due to the rarity of these schematics, their price won’t exactly be a bargain.
Anyway, this is my first mod for any game ever — a simple content mod at heart.
I’m aware that the recipes are VERY expensive, and that’s intentional — these armors represent very late-game technology. On the bright side, once crafted, the armor is easy to maintain.
Of course, all feedback is welcome, and the availability of this armor in survival mode can be rebalanced in the future if there’s enough pushback.
Compatibilities:
Combat Overhaul
Useful Traders
Hope you enjoy!

From the Memoirs of Grandmagister Cardinalis Thomas IX. The Pure
[Scene: The forge of Master Eldred. Walls lined with shining suits of armor.
Each one a masterpiece. Thomas stands near a strange new design: elegant,
heavily fluted breastplate with ornate ridges, shining like liquid moonlight. The Greenwich style experimental suit.]
Thomas (eyes wide):
Master Eldred… I have never seen anything like this! The curves… the ridges… the grooves!
It’s… beautiful.
Master Eldred (with a mixture of pride and barely contained fury):
Beautiful!?
Thomas, my boy, this is not "just" beautiful.
This is the closest the mortal realm has ever come to touching the face of the divine!
Behold — the Greenwich Pattern. The pinnacle of form and function!
Thomas (walking around it):
But master… it’s… so decorative. Why all the fluting? Aren’t we adding unnecessary weight?
Master Eldred (wheeling around, wide-eyed):
UNNECESSARY!?
You poor, untempered nail!
You think these flutes are decoration?
They are strength incarnate!
Every groove deflects a blade, redirects force, channels the energy of impact like water over stone!
Thomas (skeptical):
But wouldn’t a simple curved plate do just as well? All these ridges… seems like extra work.
Master Eldred (marches up to him, eyes blazing):
And when your simple curve meets a warhammer, lad?
SMASH!
The plate collapses, the ribs of your knight turn into stew meat!
But THIS— this laughs at warhammers!
Every angle, every groove, spreads the force like a mother’s arms catching her falling child.
Thomas (poking a gauntlet gingerly):
But master… with all due respect… isn’t this a bit fancy for war? I mean, won’t the enemy laugh?
Master Eldred (furious, pacing):
Let them laugh.
Let them choke on their laughter as their blades skid uselessly off these fluted walls of justice!
You think war is about looking grim and muddy!?
No, Thomas. War is about intimidation.
When my knight rides into the field clad in this — the sun itself will hesitate to shine for fear of being outdone!
Thomas:
But surely these engravings—these gilded edges—don't they serve no real—
Master Eldred (interrupting, eyes wide like he’s explaining quantum physics to a goat):
NO REAL WHAT!?
Function? Purpose?
A sword fight, boy, is won before blades cross!
When Sir Aldric rides forth in my Greenwich suit, his enemies shall see God Himself descending on horseback!
Their courage will crumble before his sword ever rises!
That is the purpose.
Thomas (nodding slowly, half in awe, half overwhelmed):
So… the flutes strengthen…
The engravings intimidate…
The gilding blinds…
The curves deflect…
Master… this is like… like—
Master Eldred (leaning in, eyes gleaming):
Like what, boy?
Thomas (grinning):
Like an armored peacock of death.
Master Eldred (throwing his head back, roaring with pride):
YES! YES, THOMAS! A PEACOCK OF DEATH!
Brilliant! That’s precisely it!
Remember that, lad — for it is not enough to survive battle. One must own it!
[They both stare at the shining armor as sparks fly in the background.]

Dagurmawth Im intrigued by the fact that it took almost a month to be reported. You are very right, it was an issue for the newly added plain steel version. Fixed in 1.4.2 thank you !
The steel helmets seem to be missing durability.
iLikeToGetRekt is it really too OP?
Vanilla steel plate already reduces wolf damage to 0.56HP
And Polar bear to 1.26HP
Doesnt seem to crazy to me tbh. Its an armor made to survive raiding the deepest depths.
Is it intended for these armors to NOW in the most recent update have SIGNIFICANTLY more flat damage reduction (almost double in some cases) then vanilla counterparts?
I just updated on our server and 1.95 seemed reasonable for the cost, 3.5 seems over powered. Seems to negate all surface level mobs, even some deep, wolves are only doing .4HP per hit and even a polar bear is hitting for 1HP per hit.
HB866 Oh definetly! Every help is welcomed :-) You have my permission and gratitude. Feel free to DM me on Discord if you want
AladarCZ I, with YOUR permission- Could crack them open and start texturing them all to be consistent if you want and send them your way through discord or somethin'.
HB866 yea, right now im kinda eyeballing the textures, one day i have to sit down and make them consistent. It would be great to be able to mix and match.
AladarCZ It'd love to see the textures get changed for the Iron set to be closer to the Iron colors of Gothic and Templar- I would LOVE to mix and match these whenever they get their update
Would it be possible to have the steel version not in black? I love combining it with the hussar chestplate and gothic legs, but with steel the helmet clashes hard with the other two. Thank you!
PhenValentia Im not sure about the config settings or how it works my mod naturally doesnt have any, and im playing right now with my 1.3.2 version and i can assure you the schematic wasnt consumed during crafting. So its either one of the older versions of the mod where this could be bugged, or it is some kind of incompatibility in which case, i cant really help you.
My apologies for the delay, Should be the most recent but I don't know exactly the version as it's part of a server I'm on, could it be a config setting?
PhenValentia They should be reusable. What version of a mod are you using?
Can I ask why the schematics aren't reusable? I'm not a fan of the fact that each time I use make a set of the armor, tear up the schematics and go searching for the exact same schematics to build the new set.
If the idea is to get 3 different schematics for a full set of armor, maybe it might be good to have 3 schematics, one for each of the heads, chest and legs.
RougeTradeR "For each armor, you will need a specific schematic, which can be found in newly generated ruins or may appear at the Treasure Trader once he restocks after you install this mod."
I feel like this kinda states the information you are looking for. It wont brake your save, but it wont be available in already generated structures, you have to go to places you havent been before to obtain the schematic. Norm is different to every mod and usually is very visibly stated if the game needs new world.
I cant see if this mod needs a fresh save. What is the norm ? Do mods just work on a current save, why no modder specify it ? I dont want to take any chances so I havent tried modding on my save.
Error popping up in console.
That would be amazing if you do, thank you! For both the wonderful work & mods!
GarnetAnimations I really like visored helmets and what it does. Eventually i would like to add compatibitility.
Random question along with CO compatibility is it by chance possible to have a patch for Visored Helmets?
RachelTGG
Yes it somewhat is! Check out my Compatibility patch for using it with CO
Irakonul Thank you very much for the praise!
Amazing armor models, is it compatible with combat overhaul?
Actual amazing armour models! Keep up the great work!
AladarCZ I'm glad that you found that fact interesting, as a person originating from France I have many MANY more facts about my country and its history with you. The only price I would ask is that you avoid using these horrible jokes (who are actually slanders more than anythign else) that people ended up making at the expense of my people...
And as a sign of good faith here another one for ya: during the reign of King Louis XIII, he had as close friend and prime minister the guy that was appointed by the pope for the post of Prime Cardinal of France, he was know under the name of Richelieu and was responsible for modernizing the state and set into stone the notion what would be know as "nation state". It also lead my country into earning a very cool title/nickname: the Daughter of the Church.
YRLorenzzo Thank you! You can use it in an existing world, but the schematics will spawn in newly generated ruins. Meaning, you have to go somewhere where you have never been to have a chance at finding them. OR you can wait until your treaser traders restock after you install the mod, there is a chance for a schematic to be sold there.
AladarCZ can this mod be used on an existing world or do i have to create a new one? very great work btw
This is absolutely incredible. Great work!
If I could add one thing it would be compatability with Visored Helmets MOD for this mod and the Gothic style one.
Again, even without that; amazing work.
Lephasme1000III forgot to answer! Thank you for the neat fact! Always great to learn something new.
For anyone interested Adam Savage from Mythbusters has his youtube channel now, and recently he released a video talking about the exact armor piece that inspired this mod!
Tarquil Thanks for the notice, seems like it could be done, i will look into it and try adding compatibility soon
EDIT: Done, new release should be compatible. I tested it right now.
There seems to be conflict with mod Useful Traders, causing the blueprints for both your Forgotten Armory mods to never appear in their stock. After disabling Useful Traders I noticed those blueprints on almost every other trader I spawned, while with it enabled 0/64 I spawned had them in stock. Idk how items are injected into their trade inventory or if it's something you can fix on your end, just thought it's worth a mention
Peak armor peak mods
Hello ! I have to say its quite a great mode, I would also like to tell you something: the King of France Louis XIII and XIV had that type of knight armor worn while they were personally on the battlefield. Meaning that you've actually already a french knight armor set without realizing it.
Post-scriptum: the armor set in question is the one made out of steel with gold adornment atop of the cuirass
Ok, so i looked a little bit into what would it take to make CombatOverhaul patch.
Apparently my armor shapes are too small to fit into the layer system and skin and middle layer stick out of it. Reshaping can ve pretty time consuming since my models are already made from a lot more shapes than basic armor. Maybe simplier way would be to make my armors take up all the layers and set the stats accordingly to make up for that. BUT, that would also mean that in context of the CO mod, they would be DIRT cheap which means to patch the recipes too, to balance out the crafting prices.
So i guess i know how to do it and have some plan. But my priority is first to make progress with the series. So probably when the series progresses noticably or even after its finished, i might take a look on patches, ill keep it in mind, maybe i try something sooner. Until then anyone is welcome to do it instead of me!
Thanks for the praise. Regarding the CO compatibility, I didnt have the chance to use that mod yet so im not even sure whats incompatible, what i know is that it changes A LOT of mechanisms regarding the equipment.
Ill do some tests and research of other armor mods that are CO compatible to see how hard would it be.
How much doubloons do I gotta drop to get the CO patch?
Would kill even more people for a Combat Overhaul patch on this too.
GOATed mod, thank you so much
Brother in christ thats so f awesome, now ill wait for co patch
I would be very grateful
DeanBro Wow thats great! I will put it in the next version and credit you, is that ok?
AladarCZ Your mod is awesome, thanks for making it!
I also did a translation for this mode.
sickass mod dude, great work
Woah this is sick!
Wow, guys, thanks for the feedback :-) Cant wait to show you more!
This is dope mate, I really love the way you uses the shapes for the face guard, fantastic work!
Another style you might consider down the road is Milanese armor and Maximilian armor.
OH GREAT HEAVEN WHAT A EXQUISIT MOD!!!
Damn that looks crazy good
looks awesome!
Holy mother of Dave, this is beautiful.
