Recommended download (for Vintage Story 1.20.12, 1.21.0, 1.21.1, 1.21.2 and 1.21.4 - 1.21.5):
betterbreadsatiety_1.0.0.zip
1-click install
All breads now provide 420 satiety instead of 300, this makes bread just slightly worst than porridge in terms of satiety, but in exhange bread in this mod also have an increased shelf life. This tweak makes bread great again, giving it a use case as a long term grain food compared to the other options like porridge and pies. There's just something so simple with making and eating bread.
Recommended Mods to go along with this:
Tankards and Goblets - eat bread and drink mead
Bone Broth (by me)

Thranduil61 Only the vanilla bread as of right now. I can look into adding compatibility if you'd like
rip old name, but the funny number lives on
Nico_Nico_Nyx I meant that grains and vegetables get a longer shelf life in storage vessels, which applies to bread. Anyways, I just wanted a clarification on the confusing description, no need to tell me to not download it. o7
ggVGsVivi Every food item dont get a certain shelf life bc of their food category. They're all defined individually, both for eaten straight up and when put inside meals, and even in base game the bread having 300 sat is a discrepancy with grain satiety when cooked up. If you don't like the change brought up by this mod, then dont download it. And easier to prepare than pie is that you're only skipping taking the time to fill up pies, and there's literally no reason for you to not make pies with your dough besides not having enough stuff to make fillings. I'll say it again, but this buff is meant to make bread more competitive with porridges and pies
Nico_Nico_Nyx Putting additional things in porridge/pies doesn't change that they're 240 sat. per grain. But I see now that the +60 from bread is to account for it not pausing hunger. Still don't get why it would need buffing - it's stackable, easier to prepare than pies, and also has by far the longest shelf life, since it's still classified as grain.
ggVGsVivi You can add more things to porridge increasing the value you get out of it, and because its a meal it also pauses your hunger (+30sec per 100 sat). Pies are probably the most overpowered and best use of your grain (crap ton of satiety, good shelf life, easily transportable, and pauses hunger). Meanwhile, with all the effort it takes you to make bread you get a measly 300 sat in base game and a shelf-life similar to pies. It's only advantage was that its easily stackable and that was it. With 420 sat per bread, not only is it an efficient use of your grain (and your time), it makes bread a more competitive option to the other two, and now the only benefit it doens't have over the other two is the ability to pause hunger.
I don't really get the math behind this, porridge is made out of two grains and gives 480 sat., 240 per grain. So bread is already the optimal choice but this mod makes it even better?
I love Making Bread Great Again!
