This mod introduces Temporal Transporters and Temporal Interceptors to the game.
Temporal Transporters
- A machine that allows you to send parchments, books, and envelopes over long distances.

You can pair 2 transporters together by crafting a pair of Temporal Keys and putting each of them inside the key slot of both machines. Once paired, the key is locked inside.

Only functions when nothing is covering it.

Costs 1 Temporal Gear per message (paid by sender, charges per gear are configurable).

Stores up to 8 incoming messages in its interface. This storage is take-only.

Breaking a transporter only returns some of the crafting materials and the key used.
- Clockmakers have a ~3x cheaper recipe for them
- Makes a noise in a 64-block radius when receiving and sending
- Has a configurable cooldown per send (default 10 seconds) to prevent spamming
- If target is full, will not send
Temporal Interceptors

Also needs to have nothing covering it and requires Temporal Gear charges.

Intercepts messages sent between two linked transporters if placed on the direct line between 2 transporters (2D plane, ignores height).

Has a 25-block interception radius (configurable), so placement doesn’t need to be exactly on the line.

Has its own intercepted message storage. If full, messages slip go through to the target.

Every interception calls down a lightning strike (It is recommended to build a lightning rod nearby).

Like the transporter, breaking it only returns some materials.

The target chunks don't have to be loaded for this to work. The messages are saved in a database in ModData/{SavegameIdentifier}/temporaltransporter/temporaltransporter.db and loaded in when the UI is opened.
In the example below, interception won't occur because the interceptor has been placed further than the maximum configured distance. Provided that neither transporter is covered, and there are chargers on the sending side, the message would go from Transporter to Transporter.

Mod made for the Chronicles of Time RP server, but you are free to use it wherever
