Love this idea but yes adding more features or options that others have suggested would be nice. Could there be one that if you're carrying a temporal or rusty gear in your inventory that you will not revive? I feel like that would really vibe with the lore nicely.

I love the idea of this mod, but i think it definitly needs a customizable day penelty, as not everyone plays on 30 day months. Also, an option to not revive. For when you die in a place you really... really dont want to wake up in XD

Maybe only me, but it seems animations  after dying don't work anymore. Not walkin/running animations, not  swimming, etc. I just almost completely stiff in third person animations. It is fixed on reload. I do run other Salty mods and combat overhaul, but no other animation overhauls. Anyone else have these issues?

Edit: it seems to be temporary, they start working after some time. Sometimes the reasons why you died are still there after you wake up. Meaning the player is in an endless cycle of death. Any way these animals or monsters just... walk away? Like they walking off and despawning?

Sorry guys, too out of the scope of the mod. Multiplayer compatibility would also require a lot of testing that I can't do :p

Adding to Sonito's suggestion, it could be fun on Multiplayer if you can use a gear on a player's death spot to revive them immediately.
Assuming there will be Multiplayer support at all, even for an alternative mod/fork

How about a certain amount of lives before the time is skipped , visually represented by something like a hourglass being emptied each life lost x) something along those lines

Hi love the concept but I gotta know how it behaves in multiplayer,  
Ideally I would want : 

Scenario 1 - 1 player online :
- player finds bear
- player dead , skip X amount of days


Sceanrio 2- 2 players online : 
- player 1 and player 2 explore cave 
- player 1 dead - Nothing happens to the time 
- the player 1 cannot respawn until Y time (3 min or so in my case)
- 2 player dead  during the respawn timer of player 1, skip X amount of days

EDIT : I cannot read, it is intended for single player x) , in any case if you're okay with it i'd like to give it a try/my take on this concept for multiplayer

I love the concept of this mod, but my god is it punishing. Just imagine if you are trying to perfectly plant your crops, but ho! What's This? I forgot to eat literally anything and my health bar is down to half a pip? Noooooooo I just needed to plant 3...more......flax......*expires and gets punished by 6 to 7 days ensuring that my crops won't be ready near the same time and wasting the rest of the warmer months to plant temp sensitive crops*

Funny conflict/bug/exploit? with xskills.  I die, and then gain a couple levels in survival while I wait to respawn.  Not exactally what I'd call 'surviving'.

I've been playing with it and I do love it. There is a con, can you speed up the mobs so they move away faster while the time speed up part. There are a few times where I got stuck at the legs of a Saw lostus spawn camping me...I lost 15 days, maybe 20...

To spin this further - as I very much like the idea - something that The Long Dark does as well.

 

Let's increase the penalty more and more the more often you die.

So first death 5 days, second death 7 days, etc.

 

Or provide permanent inflictions, like reduced max health, etc. Reviving should come at great cost.

 

Although, I understand theming it with time makes sense for VS 🙃

i guess the best way to handle "If" situations is by giving few seconds of protection so player can move out of lava or dig up a hole to avoid get crushed again or get air so he dont drown again or run if mobs are camping his corpse. 5 secs should be more than enough to prevent a death loop in most situations i can think of.

yea aging mechanic could be lit, start as a baby and need to be taken care of (works only in mp tho)

Lol, but I was using drowning as a single example. If I died from a cave in, would I resurrect still crushed by rock? If I fell in lava? I'm just wondering how that would work. Perhaps I wasn't as clear as I could be with that.

this could be really cool in multiplayer too. like especially if its configurable and you set it to a day and if youre underground it teleports you to the surface like youre undead

This is an interesting idea, but how does it handle edge cases like dying underwater? Do you have the option to move to the last safe location?
I can see myself using this mod in a more hardcore run.

Also yeah! roughly 5 days, and yes the time does fast forward! It's a 10 second wait from clicking respawn to moving the character.

Very interesting.
So from the vid it looks like 5 days pass before you revive. Is this configuable? Do you only revive at your death point or is there an option to respawn at respawn point? Is the video sped up or does time pass faster while dead?
