Welcome to Pegasus

This mod adds pegasus (heavily inspired by Sky Cowboys) to the game that you can find in the world. They're tameable and rideable just like the horses from Equus 
They also serve as a smaller, more agile flyer compared to the dragons from Draconis, though with less carry capacity.

We plan on adding more textures in the future but no ETA on that ^^

DISCLAIMER: When upgrading your mod version please make sure you fully remove previous versions of the mod and fully close the game or you may find pegasus disappearing.

Also please avoid restarting servers or leaving the game while mounted, there's a chance your mount might get yeeted.

Important:

This mod requires Jaunt for it to work. Please make sure you've installed it before reporting issues ^^
Optionally it also supports Biomes and Configlib
If you have Genelib installed you can also name the pegasus ^^

Always backup your save when adding/removing/updating mods!

Don't forget to install the dependencies.

If you are experiencing issues with your mount stopping and running in place and/or your camera snapping forward while riding this is due to the full attribute tree resync in the base game. It is more likely to happen the more mods you have installed but as a workaround you can try the Rubberbandaid (and/or MountCameraFix) mod

Hey,

I've been experincing an issue where the game seems to crash when decending on a fairly regular basis. I've tried removing and reinstalling the mod fresh but this seems to a regular occurance for me. We do have several mods installed but the actual error doesn't appear to note anything outside of the mod.

I'll probably wait a bit, it should resolve itself when FOTSA gets updated to include riding again. If anything changed in the way FOTSA handles their haybed patch by then I can adjust my patch then ^^

They are quite rare so I suspect it'll take a while before you find any. If you like you could use the configlib mod to up their spawn rate a bit

Shintharo12 I can't think of anything that might conflict. I have all the FotSA mods, and I'm sure they don't cause any issues. Unless it's how itinerare says, then that would be the problem.

So ive been looking around my Own server and didn't find them anywhere and i also tried singleplayer and the same thing :(( Might be stupid or somt but i think i really can't find them anywhere for me

Looks like the bedroll patch is set to disable if cervinae is installed-- but I don't think that mod includes an equivalent patch (at least at this point). Removing that condition appears to make bedrolls appear (at least for draconis), so I'd presume it's the same here.

Hi there, I suspect there might be a mod conflict with the patch for the bedroll, are you using any mods that also have the bedroll as an attachable? Then I can look at adding compat for that

I can't seem to see a hay bed when it's placed in the bedroll slot; it appears invisible—only tested on a Stallion Pegasus.

This is how I always thought the Elytra should have been done in MC, as a rideable mount, which would prevent it from being completely overpowered, and be far more interesting gameplay-wise. Really like the look of this, the design looks beautiful.

Saw the reddit post and had to stop by and give a thumbs up for the tail feathers on the model. Never seen a pegasus with tail feathers before and really like it. Even makes sense to a degree.

I set the game version dependency to 1.21.2 mainly to avoid user mistake related issues in regards to Jaunt (like using the wrong version) as quite a bit changed in vanilla's code in regards to mounts between 1.21.1 and 1.21.2
This mod itself works just fine in 1.21.1 if you change the required version in the modinfo json and use the appropriate jaunt version for 1.21.1. But honestly I'd recommend just waiting with adding this mod till the server is updated to 1.21.2 or above

I won't be adding pillion support to the species currently included in the mod, much for the same reasons as the horses or the maplewings.
That being said if anyone wants to write a patch mod (not a reupload) to change that be my guest ^^

No, but our pegasus come in a variety of bird inspired colours ^^
Currently this includes:

  • barn owl
  • ptarmigan
  • australian magpie
  • eurasian magpie
  • torresian crow
  • caracara
  • Pesquet's parrot
  • purple starling

Minor correction for your description. Since 1.21, MountCameraFix doesn't change the dirty path resync threshold. (Rubberbandaid was cleaner/nicer and I didn't want to conflict) It still makes the mount state updates idempotent tho.
