DISCLAIMER: This mod is not yet battle-tested and there are many ways by which you can tank your performance (especially. client-side). Be careful with sizes above 1000x1000!
Roadmap
- [ ] Handheld (Item) for placing a fixed-size temporary map.
- [ ] Add requirement for Temporal Gears as "Catalyst" for larger sizes (currently unrestricted)
- [ ] Keep data and settings when block is broken
- [ ] Replace model for the projector variant
- [ ] Allow upgrading a placed block via World Interaction
- [ ] Maybe: More restrictions on Copper and Bronze (e.g. only a single chunk and no LOD)
- [ ] Maybe: Further restrict the block type to the area it was first placed in (unsure if I want that)
Known Issues
- Size and exact positions are not accurate, yet.
- Maps are only loaded on first interaction
- First interaction takes 2 clicks for the GI to show up

Will be keeping an eye on this mod. Keep up the great work.
This is an insane mod, hats off.
Hello, awesome mod, look cool :D
damn, this looks cool.
Gneiss Name "the Minecraft geologist" would love this mod. I'll suggest this mod to him.
This could, perhaps, be the precursor to a very cool, tech driven, immersive 3D mapping system.
A server that wants to disable coordinates and the vanilla map system instead uses a mapping mod that uses tech to record the terrain and then projects it (in a sense) into a smaller map display. The displayed "holo-map" is very accurate, complete with waypoints and everything. Players display and evaluate the holo-map to determine locations and routes to get to and from specific destinations. Map can only be displayed onto a suitable surface, and waypoints are only visible as markers on the map itself. No auto guidance systems like coordinate displays an such.
awesome!!!
Marvellous
And also open source, good job!
casually creates the most useful mod ever
You mean to tell me you made an itty-bitty terrain renderer for me to put on my shelf? :D DA BEST!
wtf
