Ah cheese, beloved food in the real world, and yet so lackluster in Vintage Story. For so much effort in raising sheep/goats, locating salt, and tons of waiting, the fruits of your labor as they are now prove meager.
What should be a savoury, ripened beauty is instead a greater than 0.3x reduction in satiety. Not to mention the fact that should you try to use your hard earned cheese in a meal you'll find that, unlike nearly every other ingredient in the game, the satiety isn't even boosted.
Here, I provide a solution to this dairy-shaped hole in your heart!
Cheddar cheese wedges now provides 350 satiety (up from 240), and in meals becomes worth 525 (1.5x like most other ingredients)
Blue cheese is a very refined taste, and takes even more effort than cheddar, so it only feels right to make it even better. A wedge will now provide 380 satiety (up from 200!), and 570 as a meal ingredient.
So go forth, my fellow cheesemakers, and ply your craft with renewed faith in its value!
While these improvements may seem modest, I do aim to stay somewhat in line with vanilla design. It proves to be a rule that preserving food will generally cost time and satiety. With the mod leaving spoilage and ripening times untouched, its seems fair to keep the buffs somewhat minor.
Should you not agree with my judgement, worry not! It is incredibly easy to alter the satiety values altered by this mod. The files contain but a single .json patch with all of the changes, readily available to alter to your liking. For server owners, this won't prove a problem; This mod is server-side only, so no need to worry about file conflicts with your players' installed versions.

CloudStone i mean yeah, tho some "strands" (i have no idea what the correct term is so i'm gonna use that) of penicillium don't produce mycotoxins that are harmful to humans (at least if i remember correctly) and you'd probably be sick because of all the cheese you're eating because penicillium poisoning, i just thought it would be cool for uncooked blue cheese to heal a slight bit of health (i'm not sure if cooking it would make the antibacterial properties innefective but i feels like it would)
wael6 well, just because one type of penicillium is used as an anti-biotic doesn't make it healthy. It's also the same fungus you find in moldy bread, which is mildly toxic. Penicillium produces harmful mycotoxins, although it produces less in cheese than it does in bread. Still, eating large volumes of blue cheese would probably be enough to poison you.
adding a slight bit of healing (very small but still here) to blue cheese could be cool since the mold that causes the blue spots is a type of penicillium which is anti bacterial and just makes you a bit healthier
ZeroAresIV Honestly incredible that a mod with a single patch can do that. I'll look into it.
For some reason this mod prevents placing cheeses on shelves
I appreciate these balanced changes. I was using a different mod that increased cheese satiety, but they didn't touch it in meals and so it was kinda useless to me, and also 1 slice giving 750 sat was too much
As someone from wisconsin I needed this :P
