This mod and myself are in no way associated with Wildcraft: Trees and Shrubs and it's developers, these are personal adjustments to elements I find overpowered or unnecessary shared for use on my server.

 

Requires: Herbarium & Wildcraft: Trees and Shrubs

 

These are the changes that will be made and why.

  • Forage Basket quantitySlots reduced from 10 slots to 6
  • Forage Basket can no longer hold animal products (set animal product storageFlags to 1)
    • The Basket is crafted from materials you can collect in the first 5 minutes of play, costs a little more then the basic hand baskets, but holds basically everything your collecting early game with 3.33 times the size.
  • Leaves Items no longer drop
    • I can't seem to see a reason for these other then an easier way to make nitrogen fertiliser and as fuel.
  • Canes now have a drop rate equal to sticks, regardless as to how they are collected

    • They have the same burn value, and some cross over uses so should be collected in equal amounts.

 

Note, Forage Baskets crafted before installing will have their original size, newly crafted ones should be size 6.

Fixed leave drop tables to account for a change in how Wildcraft handles leaves and canes in the most recent version.

  • Set antlers and seashells from storageFlag 33 to 1 to maintain consistency with existing nerfs.
  • All others changes appear to still override correctly.

  • Disabled all calls for dropsCanesByType, removing Herbarium from handling cane drops.
  • Added for every type of tree that drops canes it's own dropsByType table.

This should result in average cane drops being equal to average stick drops regardless of how the leave was broken, while leaving leaves that don't drop canes to use the default drop table.

Should be fixed now, I've not tested every tree though, so if you get the tree leave block when you break it, I've missed a tree in the patch.

@Azavit They seem to of changed the way they handle leave and cane drops by removing them from Herbarium and adding them to the drop table instead (IMO how it should of been done in the first place). My fix basically did this to get rid of leaves and bring canes in line with sticks, the result is my "add" patch is added into there "add" patch now, so leaves now drop and canes drop too much.

I don't use Wildcraft anymore but I'll see if a simple swap from add to replace will fix it.

Wildcraft Trees had an update and seems to have broken this mod's changes to the drops.

Leaves drop themselves with this mod installed rather than their normal drops.

Version 1.0.1 should make canes drop in equal amounts on average to sticks, it's a bit of a complex patch so if you notice that seeds don't seem to be dropping please let me know, I needed to add unique dropsByType drop tables for each tree that drops canes so I could of missed something. All other tree should still use the default drops table from my testing.

Vinter_Nacht Thanks for this, you made me realise that I hadn't tested what happens if you cut down a tree VS breaking the leaves and you are correct the drop rate is still off. I'm seeing if I can figure out a way to safely add the canes directly to the leave drops table, which is complecated by not all leaves dropping canes, and some trees dropping the same type of cane (willow and weepingwillow both drop willow canes). I have some ideas just trying to find one that doesn't generate any warning (dropsByType might be the one).

These are changes I wanted to make myself. Though I feel the drop rate on canes is still too high, it's a decided improvement.
