Recommended download (for Vintage Story 1.20.0-rc.9 - 1.20.1, 1.20.3, 1.20.4, 1.20.12 and 1.21.5):
vpemmican_1.1.0.zip
1-click install
This mod enables already present pemmican items and recipes in game, adds translations and ability placing pemmican on the ground.
There is two versions - regular and salted, salted version have extended shelf life. Both made from 1 fat, 2 meat (no bushmeat) and 8 fruits, the only difference is that salted version is made with cured meat. Once pemmican is made it have to be cured just like cheese.
This mod is made for my server. If you are looking for moderately modded server check out Silent Meadows

any chance you could add more bitesized portions? 800 sat is a bit much to munch on all at once.
Asil Ship biscuits can be made in vanilla by charring bread.
I was really excited about this because it seemed like a great new way to preserve fruit and bring it while exploring. Then I realized that it only gives protein nutrition. So I went digging in the JSON definitions, and I don't see a way to add more than one kind of nutrition to a food item. Meals and pies are entirely different objects that can take all sorts of ingredients and have nutrition calculated from the ingredients you use. I single item produced by a grid recipe seems to only support one kind of nutrition -- or, at least, I don't see any examples of multiple nutrients, so I don't know if there's a way to define it.
I hazard a guess that this is why pemmican was never released -- the game engine probably needs to be updated for pemmican to make sense.
The only way I can think to make pemmican do what what we expect it to do would be to remake it like a pie, and at that point the only part you'd be using would be the models/textures. Moreover, I don't know if the curing mechanic is defined for pie-like meals.
If someone else wants to monkey around with it, I'd love to hear the results. Now that we have have pemmican, I desperately want correct pemmican 😅
Is there a way to modify the satiety that is received? So that it gives satiety in the fruit nutrition stat as well? I have never coded nor programmed but if it's a simple tweak I'll give it a go.
Oh, thanks, I'll look that !
EDIT : I somehow made it work ! Thanks again, I suppose I just needed a push in the right direction to try it :)
Majestik you want to make a patch that will modify the recipe. If you read tutorials on the wiki about assets patching and modmaker 3000 it should be straight forward
Yeah, I thought so :') I guess I'll give it a try
Majestik I guess you will need to learn how assets patches work, its on official wiki.
Hey, thanks for the mod !
I was wondering something, if I wanted to add fruits from another mod onto the list of accepted fruits for the pemmican, how could I proceed? (i'm sorry, i never really modded before)
Maalkav cellar
Hello thank you for the mod. I'm unsure how to dry the pemmican, it oftens spoils before being dried.
Asil This item is already in the game assets I just fixed some positioning and enabled it. I'm not really that good at making assets :')
Cool! Someone finally understands Survival Rations. Any chance of adding Ship's Biscuit and Portable Soup aka bullion powder?
