You no longer have to choose between seeds and food when growing pumpkins, now you get both.
Pumpkins also give four times as many slices.

Yes! Thank you. I love pumkins, but they can be a lot of work for little reward. I've had a plant give me no pumkins once! And have you carved a pumkin before? One seed is downright silly.
Still working with 1.20.10
Even while not updated, seems to work with 1.20.4. The patch is simple enough I suppose
