Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.20.4 - 1.20.10, outdated):
StickyMouseButtons-1.1.1.zip
1-click install
For those that find holding down a mouse button for extended periods to be difficult or painful.
Adds a hotkey that causes any mouse click while the key is held to behave as if the mouse button was held down until the same mouse button is clicked again.
Default hotkey is caps lock.
To toggle a mouse button on:
- Hold down the mouse button and the hotkey at the same time. (Doesn't matter which is pressed first.)
- Release the mouse button before the hotkey.
To toggle it off again, click the same mouse button.

It is working in 1.21.5
As a stopgap for folks that need/use this until it gets updated.. While you're holding a mouse button, if you alt+tab out or tap the Windows key (Which will make the game lose focus all the same), the game will continue to hold the button in the background. At least when you have a windowed/borderless up. Not sure about fullscreen. Like, at the moment, I have a stack of charcoal grinding away in a quern as I type this.
this mod is a lifesaver!! i hope it comes to the newer versions of the game soon :] <3
Hoping this gets updated for 1.21!!
Does not work in 1.21, would appreciate an update to save my knuckles from dying of holding mouse buttons too long
Thank you!
Works with 1.20.12
I noticed for some reason, it doesnt always work to lock the mouse button when holding capslock and releasing the mouse button.
This is outstanding, thank you!
Out of curiosity, is there any possibility to add this functionallity to keyboard keys too? Mainly for having to not hold down ALT during long smithing sessions...
I updated the description, I hope that works better.
if you are struggling at all to figure out how this mod works, you have to hold your mouse button, press and hold your hotkey (default caps lock), and release your mouse button, in order for it to toggle! this mod description could definitely use a little clarification because i spent all day thinking it was broken before reinvestigating and spending more time figuring it out. great mod though, works like a charm! big kudos to Kathanon
Runefire
There is, same name as mod. Note that as with all modded hotkeys, you have to be loaded in to a game before it is available.
In v1.0.0 it is in the "Mouse click modifiers" section, which unfortunately means that you have to uncheck "Mouse click modifiers locked to Sneak/Sprint keys" setting to see it. You can check it again after changing the hot key setting.
Because of that, I moved it to the "User interface" section in v1.1.0. (I'll edit the release notes to reflect that.)
Is there a way to change the keybind? I don't see it in the settings anywhere, and capslock doesn't seem to be working for me and the people on my server.
Version 1.1.0:
Zadak There are other mods that do that, I know Dana Tweaks has it.
Good, now add an option to walk while doing it as well, easy tunneling
Alt-tabbing also works. I usually do grinding or ore manual crushing that way.
I found while holding down the mouse button & then pressing Esc to bring up the settings menu, then releasing the mouse button & pressing the Esc button to resume the game will cause it to continue pressing the mouse button.
