Reuploaded, now with custom textures.
Description
tl;dr: The aim of this mod is to recreate some old Minecraft related stuff in Vintage Story, such as the Nether, Aether, and eventually other dimensions.
As of 2025-11-08 the mod overhauls worldgen to generate some Nether-inspired terrain at the bottom of the world.
Future plans
- Include the added content in game progression (eg.: changing fire clay recipe to require certain fire-themed items, etc)
- Extend the Nether-inspired worldgen, better structure generation
- Add Aether-inspired worldgen
- Add Twilight Forest inspired worldgen
Known issues
- All water is now lava, including lakes on the surface
- Nether-inspired terrain is too dark, due to a game engine limitation most lightsources are glitched on worldgen
- In certain rockstrata combinations Nether-inspired terrain will fail to generate
- Structures generated on chunk-borders can get cut off
- Story structures often fail to generate
Compatibility
- Probably none of the other worldgen mods
- Should be fine with everything else

if the neither sppawn deep down and the aether high upp where we can't see it from down there this would be epic as hell
PeachyPotato The mod puts the main Nether cavern at sea-level, and then generally goes up another quarter-ish of the world, depending on rock strata (and down to the mantle). The non-Nether caves above that are also slightly tweaked, and the surface will favor flatlands and mountains. But otherwise the surface and top-level caves are generated like in vanilla, so you can get all the types of woods, reeds, rocks, ores, etc. Story structures may not generate, and right now you'll have lava lakes everywhere until I can figure out how to fix that.
does it generate nether starting from block 0 up, or does it generate down into the negatives? In other words, are we losing vanilla terrain gen real estate by using this, or are we gaining real estate?
