Quick Look

This mod adds 3D models to your bags and backpacks and displays them on your character! Get more fashion variety and a cooler look.

Key Features

  • Visible Bags: Equip storage items (Basket, Linen sack, Minning bag, Sturdy mining bag, Hunter's backpack and Quiver) and see them visually on your character

  • New Equipment Slots: Adds dedicated slots to prevent bag types from stacking visually. (Example: Only one Mining Bag or Satchel will show.)

  • Fixes Clipping: Repositions the Hunter Backpack to prevent overlap with larger bags.

⚠️ Installation Note

This is a BOTH-SIDE MOD because it modifies item properties and add new models to bags

Does this work with the butchering bags from the Butchering mod?

💬 DatVegan, 2 days ago

I just updated it and it looks wonderful. Thank you so much. Until VS has a proper inventory system that does not include 4 backpacks, this is the immersive must-have!

😎👌

DatVegan I didn't know about the Wildcraft mod and its baskets!

Thank you for telling me about the baskets from this mod, I really hadn't found other mods that added new baskets/bags to the game (that are updated to the latest versions).

I just added compatibility with Wildcraft in version 1.0.1 😎👌

Finally, wearing different backpacks now makes sense! Nerfing my inventory has never looked so good! If I could ask for compatability for anymod, I'd ask for Wildcraft Trees. The model for its foraging basket is lovely and it's useful later into the game, making looking decked out not as punishing. BTW, a tip for all the others who like to see their characters look cool with gear: check out Harper's immersive tools and Quivers and sheaths! I'd love for Vintage Story to shed its Minecraft inventory inspiration and own  up to unforgiving survival  inventory with more limitations, and more options to overcome these limitations.

Michaloid That was a mistake. I meant to say it's not a client-side cosmetic mod because it alters backpack behavior (server-side). But I didn't realize it also adds new models to the backpacks (attached shapes), which are models loaded from the client side as well. I've corrected it in the description.

P.S.: I LOVE SATURATED COLORS 😎👌

💬 Michaloid , 4 days ago

Holy saturation. Jesus.
But if this mod is a server-side mod, then why did you set it to both?

Reverhaus Awesome !

Cthugha Sadly, it only displays one backpack of each type... this is ultimately just a minor change to the vanilla backpack system, which (to my knowledge) doesn't track how many backpacks are equipped. It just identifies an item occupying a body slot and renders the last one equipped in the sequence.

I also considered the 'generic bag' for potential mods that aren't compatible with mine, but honestly, there aren't that many mods adding low-tier backpacks to make the effort worthwhile

How does it work if I equip multiple leather backpacks for example? Does only one show up? Might be cool to create some generic leather pouch type thing as a fallback when no specific model is available for a bag type.

PapitoPapz lol Well, thank goodness I reduced the size of the objects to 60% of their actual size (on the ground).

I decided to make them a bit bulkier so they wouldn't clip so much when using heavy armor; also, I thought it would look like an adventurer if bags look quite bulgy.

It would be interesting to add a config, but my modding skills are pretty basic, I'll look into it :)

NGL I think this would be better or have a option for the size of 3D bag models like for instace have the bags on a belt and in a smaller size like a pouch cause then it does not ruin the aesthetic of armors and outfits. Love the mod tho !

ALSO option for a config that you select what bags are shown cause basket looks mad goofy hahaha

💬 ArmoredStone, 6 days ago

If you can figure out how to make carried animal corpses appear on your back that would be super cool

💬 Reverhaus , 6 days ago (modified 5 days ago)

ArmoredStone it should work fine with most mods that add new backpacks. I haven't changed how big backpacks attach to your back, so those should be okay.

BUT, If another mod adds new bags or small baskets (such as custom bags or baskets) that would not normally have a 3D model, these will not be visible to your character because I have to add them manually.

If you want compatibility for new mods, ask me for it :)

💬 ArmoredStone, 6 days ago

This is cool :o does it work with mods that add more bags? (like butchering for example)
