This is my first mod and it is not yet finished!
Known Issues:
Scroll racks have incorrect names
Uncraftable figureheads not available to buy from traders
No paths
What does this mod do?
This mod adds two types of craftable wood planks and debarked logs to the game: Varnished Oak and Varnished Pine.
They provide a rich, deep colour to add to your builds, and can be crafted into most furniture and roofing blocks.
There are two ways to craft the new wood, both use resin. One uses wax and fat, the other uses alcohol. These are loosely based on real varnishing substances.

I'm so glad this exists and I downloaded it! I wish these dark browns were vanilla!
I see it's your first mod, congrats! Looks excellent.
Those wood colours are great, crafting recipe also seems very reasonable.
Going to enjoy following this.
1.0.1 release: Doors and gates now have correct names, and figureheads are now available in both varnished wood types
@Dead_Nettle I would say it's stable, but the mod has not been robustly tested yet. And by unfinished, I mostly mean there's some stuff still missing, such as wood paths, some missing block names, and no carved figureheads, among others. However, the mod is ready to use as is; these future additions shouldn't impact anything current at all, and updates won't change or remove any of the current blocks. Since the mod is super lightweight, I plan to keep it updated, and if I can't in the future, it should be easy to fork.
Oh man, I've been wanting a wood varnish mod for a while now! I've had a specific woood color that I wanted in game, and kind of got there with other mods, but.. I think I'm going to have to rebuild my entire house after downloading this!
Since it's not finished, what other plans are there for the mod? Would you say that it's stable to use in survival right now?
Oh yeah, these are real nice
