A simple class rebalance for use in Vintage Story Civilization. Malefactor and Clockmaker required extensive out-of-combat reworks to better fit other server changes.

These class changes include reworks and re-ballancing to both cracked vessels and panning, to make them more rewarding, and remove gears. Among many other changes, the food vessel has been replaced with a Trader's Delights vessel, to compensate for the loss of traders on the server.

This is still an early version! If anything seems wrong, be sure to tell me.

Requires Combat Overhaul to function properly.

Class design intentions:


Commoner: Generic combat bonuses to help them fit multiple roles. Raised to gather food from the field, and resources from the woods.

Hunter: An archer and capable spearman. Skilled in getting all the resources they can from animals, but unaquanted with the pick and its treasures.

Malefactor: A feral combatant that relies on primative weapons, while also having buffs to a weapon of every damage type. At the same time, their undisciplined nature holds them back in both range and melee. Better loot from ruins, and bushman skills.

Smith: Well aquanted with the mechanics of a crossbow, and strong enought to use them, on top of training in pole-arms and the ever reliable hamer. Their hard work has made them slow to recover, and work in the forge has strained their eyes. Good at getting more fuel, and can smith some common items extremely fast, but unaquanted with the feilds or forrest.

Blackguard: A melee specialist, and unrivaled in sword combat. But years of training has ruined their nerves, and fine motor skills. They have a ravenous apitite from mainting their training regime, and animals can smell the blood on the air. But, they also exceel at hard labor, be it in mining a tunnel or building a road.

The Tailor: Raised to wealth, trained in stitching, and aquanted with the basics of medicinal aid. They can apply treatment faster than anyone else by a mile, but a lack of physical toil has left the weak and unskilled with ranged weaponry.

The smith has a new penalty: strained eyes, giving them a 10% ranged damage penalty.

Future Plans:

  1. Better Bandage Recipes for Tailor. Done!
  2. Better Chunk Recipes for Smith. Shelved in favor of instant nail, arrow head, and rod crafting.
  3. Rebalanced Cracked Vessels. Done!
  4. Rebalanced Panning Vessels. Done!
  5. Replace Malefactor Hunger Rate Reduction with raw food bonus.
  6. Alcohol lasts longer on Blackguards.
  7. Hammer use speed and durability bonuses for Smith.
  8. Blackguard gains Permanent bonus inventory slots, and an new downside.
  9. Replace Tailor health bonus with a general Manipulation Speed buff.
  10. Remove off-hand item hunger rate penalty for Tailor.
  11. Reduce Farm bonus for Commoner, add global tool durability buff.

Re-worked base code to properly change base-VS classes. Loot vessels/panning has been changed to be more rewarding, and the new bandage/smithing recipies have been added. Smith has a new 10% ranged damage penalty for combat ballance reasons.

Removed Eagle Eye from Malefactor (was there by accident). Removed all sources of -mining speed due to it applying to things other than mining. Reballanced Hunter and Malefactor downsides to compensate. Malefactor gains panning bonus from Smith. Smith gains armour durability and bonus coal drops, will have better ore recipies in the future. Blackguard gains animal seeking range penalty.

Hunter118 This is designed for a server that has those enemies disabled, so it didn't make sense to leave the spear as a craftable perk.

what happend to the clockmaker's turning spear. Can all class can make it now or is it uncraftable now?
