Wilderlands Caves 2.0.0-pre.1 is a MAJOR overhaul to the cave mod. Previous cave generators have been discarded, and an entirely new cave generator built to provide massive, world-scaling fracture cave systems.
Adding to a new world should not break anything, but new fracture caves will only show up in newly generated chunks. Also should not break anything updating from the previous version, but caves that have not finished progressing will end abruptly in newly formed chunks, and the new caves will show up only in new chunks as well.
Bug reports and general feedback welcomed.

Reduces vanilla cave generation and adds three new cave formations. | |||||||
Thalius ah, that's what you meant with fracture caverns. Probably me misunderstanding the description then. Yes, not for me as they are now, but they do show potential, especially if you are able to implement biomes inside them.
Simori No way to change the width of the caverns. Each fracture layer is a fracture layer in the earth's crust, that spans the entire world map. You can adjust the floor/ceiling average/min/max height in the config file, as well as the spawn chances of vanilla caves. If you only want vanilla caves, or some similar feature, this current version of the mod is not what you want.
You can try the previous release that has elliptical caves added to the game without these larger fracture caves. I'm not planning to keep up an elliptical cave generator mod, but if there is enough demand for it, I might launch a seperate cave mod project for that and simply maintain it separately. The elliptical caves play well with the game's vanilla cave system.
Is there a way to change the width of the caverns? I haven't tested the mod too much, but I've encountered caverns that are way too extensive to be enjoyable for me
Magmabit16 Should be compatible with all terrain mods. I can't see how any would clash with it.
Farbott Instability stable? If you mean, can cave ins happen? Absolutely; if you have cave ins enabled, that is. Stone, otherwise, is altogether stable.
oh god are these instability stable
is this compatible with terra prety?
The kind of caverns that generate and their frequency has always bothered me, so seeing this is a joy!
I want to see where this goes!
On our server, we've discovered that there is some bad cave generation going on above sea level, where a cave type is generating mountains with massive layers cut out. I've not been able to reproduce this in testing, so it is not consistent. I'm suspecting it has something to do with the way a certain cave form is interacting with Terra Prety's overhaul to landforms, causing the caves to show up much higher than they should be, cutting weird layers out of rougher terrain features.
Currently working on an update that will improve a few things and dial the cave types into sub-seal level ranges better.
I'm conversing a bit with someone that has already been working on a biome mod for caves. I can't really say for sure if/when anything might come of it, but we'll see.
Agree with previous comment, actual biomes for caves like in the Other Block Game would be fun, though i understand if that's not something you're interested in making
Finally some more cave content! Cant wait for actual underground biomes that you can live in..
