I'm new to modding and actively seeking permission to maintain the official version of this mod. If I can get permission I may take a stab at updating it further as I learn more about VS modding.

I have a player who loses the trait be got through the book (bowyer trait if that helps to know) every time he logs in. No issues once he eats the book again and continues playing but if he logs out of the server and logs back in it resets. We're playing 1.21.5

heyo im the author of a class mod and your mod seems to break the "traits" window in the character menu. I'm actually not sure if this is on my end but I want to look into it so ppl can use these mods together. I'd be happy to get a discord dm if you're up for it.
edit: i think it's because my mod disables the vanilla classes.
okay, I might be a little dumb, but I've gotten one of the books and I can't figure out how to use it to aquire it's trait

It seems the version still has a major bug and brings incompatibilities with Combat Overhaul.
From what I get traits and classes are now loaded from all domains, it seems this mod does not take that into account, thus bringing incompatibilites.
Anyway just got here to let you know. I'll add back the mod if this is fixed at some point.

Raa The intention was to maintain balance by only including books that allow you to learn recipe traits. I will consider maybe making this something configurable perhaps in a future update so you can allow stat boosting books or not. Thanks for the suggestion!
What about adding the ability to find the books for

I really like the idea of being acquired in the world as something that can be bought from NPCs, MAYBE from different NPCs and not just the Treasure Hunter. For me, the current mod is very good, maybe having more books, not only for class-exclusive traits but also for normal traits, possibly with embedded disadvantages so it doesn’t become OP but instead balanced (Scrolls in the case of non-class-exclusive traits). But there should also be exceptions so you can’t learn the same book twice or two similar traits, though that would require some good refinement.
About the price, just remove the blocks

This was making the average price and the price fluctuation be altered by the world config. Without these blocks, the world doesn’t overwrite the prices. It’s probably not the "right" way, but it does solve the issue.
Its a file path issue. TA needs to know where to look for the classes and traits. Im hesitant to change the mod much until I get some kind of response from the original mod author. Barring that as I learn to code better I may just rebuild the mod from the ground up. Id be open to suggestions as to how it could work. Do I stick with books? Seems the most logical, should traders sell them? Should they be loot in the world? Both?
True, earlier I mentioned it was working fine, but in fact, CO traits show up as missing-traits. My bad earlier.
I'm using the Gloome classes, and I believe they patch in differently than most class mods. I've tried layering dependencies all over the place, and that's not really doing me any good. I've just axed it for now but Trait Acquirer would be the most elegant solution for the issue I'm running in to, so I was hoping it'd be an easy functional drop-in haha
Yea I havent figured out how to get the prices to change despite my best efforts. The "character class not found" will appear if the mod doesnt know where the classes mod your using pulls the class an traits from. This one should be able to pull the info from any mod that patches to the in game files and it works fine with All Classes as well. Other class mods may not though, originally it would just crash th client if it couldnt find the class but ive added a null check so that doesnt happen, hence the "character class not found" message
Vigilance Here it’s working fine, both vanilla classes and classes from mods.
Is this mod causing the Trait tab in the character screen to not show any traits with non-vanilla classes? It seems I still have them, but they aren't reflected in the list. I am getting a "Character class not found" screen.
ManaWei I noticed the same thing: if I remove the "reborn" it sort of works, but changing the price doesn’t help, since it always stays the same. I’m racking my brain but still can’t figure out where the line is that’s overwriting the price I change

Im working on it guys. Im very very new to modding so be patient but I'm confident I can figure it out in time.
If its not too much for you guys, can you guys make the this mod compatible with combat overhaul. (Especially on the combat overhaul traits). I already make the patch for it on my side thou i don't know if it will work or not

Willownezz I haven't tested is with Rustbound Magic so I'm not sure.
Senerik That crash was happening before I recompiled it although it seems inconsistent. Some users experience it and some do not. If you are on the VS discord I am on there under the same name Lag Monster. I do not mind a DM for the crash report.
