Glad to hear you're working on an update, my server loves using this mod! I might need to learn to code so I can make a patch for combat overhaul to work with this so the new classes have weapon profeciencies.
@Hydromancerx
That issue was fixed in 1.21 and wasn't specifically caused by TheWorkingClasses. It was a bug in the vanilla logic for applying stats when blocks are broken by something besides a player.
I see thank you for the reply! I'll continue to tinker to try and fix this as I do enjoy the classes from this mod.
Moultonlava5 From what I've heard, the vanilla game has re-vamped how classes are handled and, I'll be completely honest, I'm not fluent enough with C# to figure out just how it's been changed. Nor am I able to spare much extra time to really delve into it.
Hello, I've been attempting to use this mod on a server, its been working for every other client but I cant seem to get the mod to work for myself. Its just giving me the vanilla classes and not this mods. Would you perhaps know how to fix this issue? I have tried deleting the mod, the serverside version of the mod, i have reinstalled the game and deleted my server-side character and none of those worked so far. Thanks for any help!
I really am sorry Hydromancerx for the problem you've been experiencing. While I would love to be able to fix this issue, it seems more like a C# coding issue and that isn't something I'm familiar with. As I explained in the description I merely forked the mod to work with the new .NET8 Framework and the new filepathing.
Could you please fix the conflict with Pyrogenesis mod? There is a conflict with trees when using both mods. rhino1998 said ...
"The tree felling/null player breaks a block bug also occurs with The Working Classes. I think this happens because that mod includes a trait which modifies the block drops for tree-related blocks and GetDrops checks if the player has such a stat."
ok, I know now XD
I have a problem, it requires compatibility "em v3.0.0" and I have no idea what it is
I understand, It's rough when mods you had a version ago are suddenly not available due to an update.
I do apologize for the problem Wingfriend, but I simply forked this mod so that people could enjoy it a little longer. I don't have permission to keep this mod updated as I'm not the original author nor have I gotten their permission to do so. I do know that there are other, similar, mods out there that add a wide variety of mods.
Again, I am sorry for the problem that has come up and I do wish I could help more.
Degen_Andi Hello! Wanted to check since the trait acquirer mod got updated and I've noticed that the Combat Overhaul Traits are stated as missing in the traits menu (In my case as a clockmaker: Firearms, Crossbow, and Quarterstaff Proficiency is stated as missing.)
Qwernack I don't expect updating to be possible. While this mod works identically to how The Working Classes does, it's under a differend modID.
Thanks for making this fork! What's the process if I want to upgrade a server from 1.20 to 1.21 by using this fork? Do I install it alongside the current version of Working Classes, or do I replace Working Classes with this fork? Or something else?
ValkyrieBanshee This mod adds in the exact same classes as the original Working Classes mod and in the exact same way: By patching the base game files. You should be able to update with few issues though I make no genuine promises.
So, it is not possible. I cannot upload "theworkingclasses" as that modID is claimed by the original mod creator. This mod is specifically for new worlds/saves. Theres zero compatibility work done as I would need to go through all of the compatibility for each and every mod. The main reason I forked this mod was so that it could still be used/accessed in 1.21.
Eventually, I would like to create a standalone classes mod. I don't plan to add in ways to add more traits for after character selection so I wouldn't need any dependancies either.
I apologize for any inconveniences that this mod has caused existing worlds.
I've noticed your file structure has it called "theworkingclass" instead of the "theworkingclasses" in the assets folder, if I upgrade from the original version to this forked version would I need to make any changes like reselecting my class or the like or would it even be possible to do such?
LKCRahl I have encountered that CO issue as well
So testing it on the latest version, couple of things I've noticed:
Can't wait to try it out!
