Do you yearn for the mines but can’t take the stress?
Temporal StabiliTea lets you brew Temporal Tea in a barrel to restore temporal stability, but now with a more balanced brewing process and a new ingredient.
Brewing Process
To make it, fill a barrel with 50 liters of water and add 1 Temporal Teabag, then seal it for 72 in-game hours.
-
A Temporal Teabag is crafted by surrounding 1 linen sheet with 8 temporal gears in the crafting grid.
-
This replaces the old recipe that used a single temporal gear directly in the barrel.
You can use:
-
Vanilla water or boiling water
-
Hydrate or Diedrate boiled water, distilled water, rainwater, boiled rainwater, or fresh well water
Effects
-
Each liter of Temporal Tea now restores 20% temporal stability (full barrel = 1000% total, enough to fully recharge stability 10 times).
-
Consuming Temporal Tea reduces player health by 1.5 points per liter, restoring stability comes at a cost.
-
When Hydrate or Diedrate is installed, each liter also provides 500 hydration.
These changes improve balancing by making Temporal Tea more resource-intensive and risky to drink, while offering a portable way to stretch the temporal boost of temporal gears.

Wow this is a really cool mod, nice idea!
KaiserConman That's totally fine, I use jugs for containing 3 entire liters at once. I'll check out the new version soonish and see if I have more feedback.
Lielac Thank you again for your information on bugs and other issues.
All, I have gone through and reworked the mod a bit to get proper damage sounds and effects to play when the temporal tea is drank.
Unfortunately, getting the tea to work properly with A Culinary Artillery's bottles failed. To explain: Adding the ability for a liquid to change the player's temporal stability requires a Harmony patch to a method called "tryEatStop" for drink containers which are usually given the class "BlockLiquidContainerBase". Unforunately, A Culinary Artillary made a derived class for their bottles called "BlockBottle", which has its own "tryEatStop" function--and my attempt to Harmony patch their mod (which, to be honest, I prefer not Harmony patching other mods if possible), was not working.
I will continue to look into it though, and see if I can hook into some other feature to apply the effect. Until then, I hope drinking straight from the bucket, bowl, or jug is alright! Haha!
Lielac I really do appreciate the help—I’d like to get everything right down to the “T”. (Pun intended)
I actually hadn’t considered the handbook! As I learn more about modding this game, I’ve been collecting new info—so I’ll make handbook entries my next item to learn.
I actually know the exact reason for the sliver issue. That will be a quick fix, as well as the language issue. Thank you!
Interesting. I have an idea on fixing the noise and border issue. The way I get temporal stability to go up requires Harmony patching, so I need to review how I did that. As for the quarter portion, I think I know where that stems from too—it may take me a bit of time iron it out though.
Thanks again for all the help! When making these mods, I try to keep things general so that they apply to mod version of things too—and the fixes above should help solve it for most of those.
I appreciate your patience!
KaiserConman Happy to help! I think the only problems now are:
It's a functional mod now, it's just still rough around the edges. I should definitely make the hurty noises when I drink the tea from a vanilla liquid container, and if it's easy to patch in functionality with modded fluid containers that'd be good to have too.
Lielac Oh heavens! Thank you so much for alerting me to this! I remembered that when coding, I changed something in Visual Studio that seems to have copied the wrong version of Harmony.dll to the release folder. After playing around, it looks like I fixed that--v2.0.1 is now up, and should hopefully work! I'm so sorry for the issue--please let me know if anything still doesn't work.
Also, just to be safe, be sure to purge any of the old version of the mod from your VintageStoryData --> Mods folder.
KaiserConman I'm getting an error when trying to actually install either version of this mod:

Hello all! I want to thank you for the comments and suggestions on imporving balance with this mod. I hope that the changes I made better meet those expectations, with reasonable trade-offs.
GarnetAnimations Thank you! I think the idea of a progression in the tea that removes or at least lowers the health cost is a great idea! Honey would certainly be a soothing addition. Haha! I will take that into consideration in the next update after v2.0.0. :)
Too add on to the -HP idea, would it be possible to make two iterations of the stability tea? Like a variant that you already have called "Temporal Tea" and another one with some other ingredient too remove the hp loss called "Temporally StabiliTea"(As I quite love the world play). So that at a later progression part you can make it consumable so to say. Even if at a small lost to overal stability gained could be a neat feature. Maybe could require honey or something along the lines.
@Lielac Fair point. I didn't consider the trade-off with the tea. I will do so in the next update, ideally tonight. Thanks--I appreciate the feedback!
Ok, but does the tea hurt to drink? Because I find the tradeoff of "+stability, -HP" a fun thing to juggle, and if the tea doesn't hurt to drink then it's definitely OP.
AnniPicto That's actually a great idea! I'm going to steep on it a bit more, but I'm thinking of making a "temporal teabag" that is made by combining 8 temporal gears and 1 linen sheet in the crafting grid, then mixing that with 50 liters of water in the barrel. The result would be 25% temporal stability gain per liter of the resulting tea. I may implement that tonight. Thank you for the idea!
I'm scared to think that I'll take 10 buckets of tea with me to unstable regions. I'd like to drink 1 liter, not 20. What do you think about increasing the concentration of tea? After the gear dissolves in the barrel, just put another gear there and you'll get strong tea. And then put another one. And you'll have very strong tea. Another option is to combine 4 (or more) gears in the crafting grid and get a bunch of gears. When dissolving in a barrel, the bunch of gears will have a higher concentration. And another option is to boil 3 gears in aqua vitae in a coocking pot.
m00n Thanks! The main thing I could probably change would be the percent of temporal stability per liter. Since a temporal gear normally just gives 28% (which always seemed a bit low) I wanted to make the tea more attractive. 5% per liter may be a bit much...perhaps 2.5%? I'd be curious to get some feedback from you an others--the change would be pretty easy. I could even look to make it adjustable.
hey awesome mod :D tho the rates are a little too OP :P could you make a more balanced version please? a convertion with something like 10 temp gear to 50 litres maybe?
tho i suppose you did it as 1 becasue you cant stack gears...
