Obligatory description. This is a mod that is designed for the Passion Project Gaming Roleplay Server, Echoes of the Ancients: https://discord.gg/C95bWBtRCG

 

It adds custom NPCs, renames some entities according to our lore and adds custom handbook entries relevant to our server. 

 

Do not expect support for this mod. It's only here because it has to be here for clients to easily install and use it.

Amarillo That's more related to TaskAI with entities, as far as I know. I'm not very qualified to deal with that based on my experience with this particular mod. 

 

My experience and "expertise" is in navigating and using the dialogue system in Vintage Story (the one you get when talking to Story NPCs and Traders), not their AI functionality. I'd like to get to that point eventually, but that's a whole new wheelhouse to learn.

 

That being said, from what little I know about entity AI, it seems like you specify a list of ENTITY types you want them to target and attack (player, for example). If that's the case, then you can't specify a player by group or name- only by the player entity type itself. 

 

I'm sure someone could code up a new behavior for entities to follow that targets specific players/player groups, but that's not within the realm of vanilla Vintage Story as far as I know, and it's definitely not within my area of expertise/familiarity.

Hey Inflectus in your experience creating NPC edit mod. Do you think it will be accesible to create a "sentry NPC" mod, like an static NPC that could shoot blacklisted player groups like a bowthorn?
