Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.20.12 and 1.21.0, potentially outdated):
metalleaf.1.2.1.zip  1-click install

Smith metal into leaf to cheaply apply metallic textures to a chiseled block.

Gilding Blocks

Leaf can be smithed out of most metals (matching the smooth metal block from creative mode if possible). A single sheet uses two ingots worth of metal, serving as an alternative to metal blocks.

To add leaf, open the chisel mode selection and drag it to the [+] button to add a material. Each sheet of leaf contains just enough voxels to cover one face (256), so make sure to only apply what you need.

Commendations

The idea for this mod came from my friend Jellyfishmon.

Chisel Tools is reccomended for more efficient chiseling.

Supports metals from Bauxite from Aluminum.

Makes sense.

Forgot to leave a comment mentioning the smithing recipe is absolutely evil lol, hadn't tried it out proper until recently. Smithed 64 leaf, 8 of a bunch of different metal types. Four voxels to spare, two re-tries if you accidentally split one of the lower ones. Can't imagine trying to smith it with ingots lol

Request for Tin, Zinc, Nickel, and Cupronickel leaf! <3

Using the helve hammer goes against my vision, tbh. Leaf is supposed to be fragile and using a massive, imprecise tool to hammer it out might reasonably destroy it. It's not too far from the plate which you can already auto-smith.

Request to add support for https://news.kalataka.ru/helvehammerext ("helvehammerworkable" attribute)

Great mod, btw! :>

The leaf itself is shapeless - it just adds 256 (16x16) voxels to your chisel palette. You'll only need to add multiple sheets if you want to cover more than 256 voxels.

I do have a question though. If I want accents on more than one face, do I need a new leaf for each face. And if so, do the different leafs need to be in different orientations. Depending on what face it is for.

This is a GREAT idea, I once had to make 9 tin bronze blocks just to add metal accents to a table I was making that was a lot of ingots just to add hi lights. We have needed this forever.
