Gives your trusty old lantern the ability to start fires.
No more will you need to carry around a stupid torch.
Chuck that useless piece of garbage as far as you can, as soon as the opportunity present itself.

Fair enough, I thought I would just go and add it myself, and then I looked inside your mod and thought the same thing.
Considering it is a very short time that I find myself running around with an oil lamp it isn't worth the trouble.
The lantern though, that is life!

Making an item capable of starting fires is quite annoying and it requires overriding vanilla code. I initially planned to make this mod include both the lantern and oil lamp, I don't remember why but it was harder to implement on the oil lamp.
I ended up making the decision to not bother messing with the oil lamp since it was a pain in the ass and lanterns are easily obtained early-game.
Love this mod. I really don't understand why this isn't a vanilla feature.
Still works with 1.21 RC3.
How hard would it be to add the ability to the oil lamp as well?
Adding oil lamps to the can start fires group wouldn't be a bad idea.

I just did some testing and the mod still works for the latest stable release (1.20.12). You can go ahead and use it!
I love this mod! I think it's another one of those "common sense" situation mods. Please update it so we can keep using it!
