This mod simply reduces wolfs and bears spawns, making it less tedious for players wanting to live in areas where lots of these creatures spawn. The seeking range is also reduced to make them less deadly.
Technical details :
WorldGen Spawning changes :
Tries per chunk for spawn is reduced from 0.07 to 0.02 for wolves, from 0.015 to 0.005 for bears and from 0.3 to 0.05 for hyenas.
Min Forest is raised from 0.5 to 0.6 for wolfs and max temperature is reduced from 15 to 12 to make the limits of forests safer.
Min temperature is raised from 25 to 30 for hyenas and max rain is reduced from 0.39 to 0.32 to make them spawn in deep desert only.
Runtime Spawning changes :
Spawn chance is reduced from 0.0002 to 0.00005 for wolves, from 0.00003 to 0.00001 for bears and from 0.0008 to 0.0002 for hyenas.
Max quantity is reduced from 5 to 4 for wolfs. Average number of wolves spawned is reduced from 3 to 2 to reduce the number of wolves in each pack.
The variance for the hyena groupSize is also reduced, to avoid more that 4 hyenas packs.
Minimum distance to the player is increased to 50 for all species (was 24 for wolfs and hyenas and 30 for bears).
Behavior changes :
Seeking range is reduced to from 9 to 7 for wolfs and hyenas and from 20 to 15 for bears.

Thanks for letting me know ! I indeed uploaded a wrong version of the mod ! This should be fixed now.
Ok, maybe I'm on the wrong version, but I think I did everything correctly. Everything works fine except for the bears. Logs show me that your code is looking for a server/spawnconditionsByType path which do not exist in the bear-adult.json files.

Chisamu No you don't ! It will change Runtime Spawns as well, so already loaded chunks will use these reduced spawning probabilities.
Do I have to create a new world in order for these changes to take effect?

Qiayeb you don't like the cute butterflies? they won't slaughter you when you turn your back on them, so it's hardly the same as wolves etc. Also many mods improve fishing, and it's a nice way to avoid starving at the start of the game.
how about butterfly and fish？they are useless in vanilla

I admit I did not consider hyenas cause I just never encountered them in game, South is a long way !
But I will definitely look into that, and maybe add a hyena patch, thanks for the idea !

Could you consider adding hyenas to your list? They seem like the wolfs of the south, maybe less dangerous but a tad overwhelming.

Now I'm not sure if I'm mathing correctly so forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't going from 0.015 to 0.05 for bears technically an increase?
