The block is not designed to search for ore, only caves and cavities. The block recipe is not simple.

NastyFlytrap I apologize, but I'm not that good at making mods. This mod uses vanilla mechanics and adds a block using json files. It won't display ores. But there is a great mod https://news.kalataka.ru/orexrayserver. Maybe he will help you. Good luck, comrade!
Full transparency, i dont play multiplayer and im asking for singleplayer. Also, the game is open source so if i was determined enough i could cheat anyway even on a server, but i digress. I'd like a mod like this except it shows everything other than the main strata stone blocks, and preferrably with a simple recipe.
Yes, im going to use it for cheating, but only sometimes, and only in my own world, which i dont see a problem with. Everyone can play however they want. However, i mainly want this to generate a creative world and look at how ores generate
