Simply adds some recipes that allow you to cut seeds out of harvested crops using a knife.

Use any knife and combine two or four of the same crop in the crafting grid for either one or two seeds.

Why only a 50% return for seeds? The idea is that when cutting seeds out of your harvested crop you lose some in a few ways. Some seeds are underdeveloped, damaged, or otherwise not viable, so only some seeds are recoverable.

Fruit trees and flowers do not have seeds associated with them in the base game. I'm still a beginner to modding -- cultivating and farming flowers, and making growth stages for fruit trees planted via seeds are things outside my current abilities. This may change in the future. These may become their own mods, however.

Will not work on v1.15.x and prior!

Seed Harvesting Changelog;

  v1.0.0

    + All grains, vegetables and root crops can now have seeds or cut out of them.

    * Pumpkins offer seeds without any modifications to the base game, so I decided not to include a recipe to cut seeds out of them. This may change in the future.

    * As of now, fruit trees do not have seeds to plant as we do for normal trees. I am a beginner, adding fruit tree seeds and growth stages for them is beyond my current ability. Though, this may change in the future.

Testing in 1.21.1 is going well.  Soybeans, Peanuts, and Pineapple work, too. As described, fruit trees/bushes don't.  And since pumpkin yields 1 seed per mature crop, in vanilla, it would be strange to increase the cost to 2; pumpkin slices don't work.

It does still work without issues in 1.20.x. I've been quite neglectful in keeping my game updated to be sure this mod does still work. I hear v1.21 is likely to release Stable in the next week or so. I'll be sure to test once 1.21 comes and update if necessary.

After a few multi-player tests, it seems to be working perfectly in 1.20.

It's a shame there's no way to make fruit tree seeds, you can actually grow fruit trees from seed, they're just not the same cultivar, apples being the most extreme in variation from mixing genetics. IRL though, testing a wide range of wild apples/seeds is how you find the good ones to actually take cuttings of to fill out an orchard

anyway, actual feedback (I haven't actualy played the mod yet, I'm assembling for a new pack right now so sorry if this is already done), pumpkins. You plant a single plant from a seed, but you only get one seed from a pumpkin- you get hundreds of seeds from a pumpkin irl, they turn into a weed if you let them rot in your garden they're so prolific. Combine this extremely heavy seed restriction with the fact that pumpkins strangle eachother, and even themselves, out and hinder fruit growth with current mechanics, they're absurdly painful to farm in actual quantity; any chance you could modify them to give a more reasonable amount for maintenance and multiplying, like 4 seeds?

Ok just wanted to make sure, cause flower seeds wouldve been really nice haha :)

And what I was saying was this is nice, because this is otherwise locked behind classes in moreclasses & collaborative classes, I wasnt saying put a class restriction on it 😅

TheNiteFox Yes, this is just for crops. Flowers don't have seeds for us to cultivate in the base game. I'll add an addition to the description stating this mod doesn't add flower seeds. Does sound like a good idea, though.

I don't feel that restricting this ability to one or two specific classes is right. It's not complicated enough for me to justify a class restriction.

This is just crops and not flowers right? Ive been waiting for Wild Farming to get fixed just because it makes flowers be able to have seeds to use with alchemy but alas itsnot fixed yet. 

This is still handy though, cause only other place ive seen this is locked in a class mod, so thanks for making this :3
