======================================================================================================================================================================================
======================================================================================================================================================================================

======================================================================================================================================================================================
======================================================================================================================================================================================
Medieval expansion patch v1.0.1
======================================================================================================================================================================================
======================================================================================================================================================================================
My friends and I got tired of hunting a bunch of animals and still going hungry, so I put together this JSON-mod that makes the "exhaust" of meat from the carcass more realistic.
In short, we caught the ludonarrative dissonance in its minimal manifestation.
======================================================================================================================================================================================
The mod greatly shifts the focus of game mechanics from food production to improving food storage methods.
======================================================================================================================================================================================
Here is a list of the changed drops in quantity sorted by
quantity of meat
[average quantity]-[range in both directions]
1. **Moose** 168-10
2. **Bear** 124-10
3. **Spruce (wapiti)** 110-10
4. **Deer** 100-7
5. **Bighorn** 90-8
6. **Gazelle** 85-10
7. **Boar** 80-8
8. **Wolf** 65-10
9. **Hyena** 55-10
10. **Goat** 45-8
11. **Fox** 27-4
12. **Raccoon** 24-6
13. **Hare** 17-4
14. **Chicken** 12-5
fat amount
1. **Bear** 31-4
2. **Moose** 29-2
3. **Wapiti** 26-3
4. **Deer** 24-2
5. **Bighorn** 20-3
6. **Wild Boar** 18-2
7. **Hyena** 17-1
8. **Wolf** 16-2
9. **Gazelle** 14-2
10. **Goat** 12-2
11. **Fox** 6-1
12. **Raccoon** 5-1
13. **Hare** 4-1
14. **Chicken** 1-1
======================================================================================================================================================================================
As a result, the mod shifts the focus from constant malnutrition (when playing with several people) to a new need for improved food storage (a small step towards beekeeping for honey for preservation)
I use it together with the Butchering mod for a more pleasant immersion, I also recommend using additional mods
I would like to thank the authors of these mods for their work!
======================================================================================================================================================================================
This mod also patches other modifications at the moment.

Fair, sorry for the trouble! Thanks for making the mod regardless!
Dragonchampion Theoretically, it is possible, but it is quite a laborious task, so it is unlikely to happen, especially on versions below 1.21.
Any chance you could make a patch for compatability with Fauna of the Stone Age? Preferably in 1.20.12.
LordOri No worries at all! That makes perfect sense. I'll admit I know very little about how to make a config file like that either.
Thanks again for all the work put into these mods, I think they're wonderful! :)
GriffinsWings the problem is that i'm not very good at modding and almost all my mods are based on very simple patches so i can hardly make a config file glad you like it
I'm really loving this series of small mods! Would you ever potentially consider also creating one big "R Series" mod that can have the features toggled in configs? While I can absolutely appreciate the value of the series' modular nature, it could also help to keep modpacks' mod count from looking super intimidating if someone is using many of them lol.
Thank you for all your hard work on these mods, and for your consideration!
When loaded with medieval expansion patch, throws two errors in server log
Game version is 1.20.7

Will direct further comments to R.Permanentskin.
DilanRona Do I already have this mod on the theme, or do you have a more specific suggestion for skin drops?
R.Permanentskin
Fat is fine. Its the leather drops that might need adjusting.
DilanRona Sure, but can you tell me what exactly needs to be corrected? Fat?
Will you be able to push an update to adjust the leather drops a bit for some of the animals, when you get a chance?
DefiledMage Of course you are
Can I customize the amount of loot?
Chickens does indeed drop properly. As do the wolves and foxes.
@LordOri i'll post the error log when i get home- but as far as i remember it was deer, rabbits, bears, pigs, wolves, chickens, and one other (i think foxes)
Aloy Describe more precisely, which female animals reflect the wrong loot?
doesnt work in 1.20.3- females still drop vanilla amount of meat regardless of species
Ok, the hard dependancy has been removed, after I sent the right file to LordOri. Again, sorry for the inconvienience that my compatibility patch caused, Abed. And thanks for the update, LordOri.
Ok, looks like my initial contrib made it a hard dependancy. I'm sending an update to remove the hard dependancy to LordOri to fix that problem. My apologies, Abed for the inconvienience caused.
Abed no, the mod will work without it
So Medieval Expansion Patch is now a dependency and required!?
LadyEdain I'm assuming "In short, we caught a ludonarratic dissonance in its minimum manifestation." would be better translated to, "In short, we caught a ludonarrative (ludo narrative) dissonance in it's...smallest form?" So, what the game presents vs what we actually get is out of sync.
DilanRona Already done, thank you!
Ok, I got the compatibility for it working now. If you can please contact me on the forum, I can send the updated zip to you directly. www.vintagestory.at/profile/241685-dilan-rona/. Did a final test, for the bull, cow, and calf. And I used values that I thought look approproate, will leave the final values for you once you took a look at my modification. Will also give you an idea on what to do to add https://news.kalataka.ru/feverstonewilds compatibility as well.
DilanRona Yes, sure
If you dont mind, can I try to add support for it then?
DilanRona Sorry, but I don't have the ability to add support right now, besides that I haven't patched third-party mods, so for me it's a bit of a difficult task
Can you please add support for Medieval Expansion Patch (https://news.kalataka.ru/medievalexpansionpatch)
Cury_EO Google Translate is a personal friend of mine:
My friends were tired of hunting for a bunch of animals and still starving, so I collected this JSON-MOD that makes the “exhaust” of meat from the carcass more realistic.
In short, we caught a ludonarratic dissonance in its minimum manifestation. [I'd really like to know what this sentence is supposed to be, LOL]
Mod strongly shifts the emphasis of game mechanics from the extraction of food to improve products storage methods
Here is a list of a changed drop in the amount in the sort of
the amount of meat
[average number]-[spread in both directions]
1. ** Elk ** 168-10 [I think this is supposed to be moose]
2. ** Bear ** 124-10
3. ** Yolk (vapiti) ** 110-10
4. ** Deer ** 100-7
5. ** Tvhggy ** 90-8
6. ** Gazelle ** 85-10
7. ** Boar ** 80-8
8. ** Wolf ** 65-10
9. ** Hyena ** 55-10
10. ** Goat ** 45-8
11. ** Fox ** 27-4
12. ** Raccoon ** 24-6
13. ** Hare ** 17-4
14. ** Chicken ** 12-5
the amount of fat
1. ** Bear ** 31-4
2. ** Elk ** 29-2
3. ** Yolk (vapiti) ** 26-3
4. ** Deer ** 24-2
5. ** Tvhggy ** 20-3
6. ** Boar ** 18-2
7. ** Hyena ** 17-1
8. ** Wolf ** 16-2
9. ** Gazelle ** 14-2
10. ** Goat ** 12-2
11. ** Fox ** 6-1
12. ** Raccoon ** 5-1
13. ** Hare ** 4-1
14. ** Chicken ** 1-1
I do not know what "spread in both directions means." Maybe + or - that number? Like 168 average meat from an elk, plus or minus 10?
I do think the game is pretty stingy when it comes to meat, because you'd get a lot of servings of meat off large animals. A whitetail dear in my area gives about 30 pounds of meat, which is 120 4oz servings (what's considered a proper serving of meat) or 60 8oz steaks. The mod creator has 100 meat average for a deer, which seems in-line with what you could expect IRL. Wild rabbits here in the Southern US are only about 3 pounds of meat (12 servings), but I saw hares when I was England that were as big as groundhogs, so I think the meat estimate on that is correct for a European hare, as opposed to a standard American rabbit.
You'd definitely need Primitive Survival's smoker to process all that meat. But that's the way it was historically: If you could bring down big game, you'd spend several days processing all of it. This would also reward hunting in colder weather (November was the traditional butchering period) because your food won't spoil so fast as you work to preserve it. You would actually want to put up food to eat over the summer, rather than the winter, or save your hunting for smaller game in the summer.

Feverstone Wilds?
If it would be in English it would be better to undestand for everyone qwq
