This mod is simply all the non-ore related changes from my original Ores A Plenty mod. I removed them from that mod for those who only wanted that feature.
If you actually liked the other little changes I made, like to redwood trees, then all those changes are now in this mod.
Hopefully this helps those out there running servers and only wanting certain features.
Changes Include:
- Changed stack sizes for logs to 64, nuggets to 400, firewood to 64, ingots to 256, beeswax to 64, and honeycomb to 64.
- Skeps will drop more honeycomb when harvestable and should drop the skep itself.
- Iron is smeltable in the crucible. Still need the complex process for steel, however so have fun.
- With all this new ore, the mining bag is now... extra worth it.
- Redwood trees are more common, Purpleheart are slightly more common, for 1.20 I nerfed this even more.
- Lava is bucketable
- Meteoric Iron Falx is the one and only true weapon against the drifters...
- Craft 2 Oak Seeds into a Large Oak Seed to grow a bigger oak tree. Normal seeds grow base game oldenglishoak trees.

Oak tree seeds now grow normal oldenglishoak trees from the base game. Grid Craft two oak seeds to make 1 Large Oak Seed, which will grow into a larger custom oak tree. Shrunk the Acacia trees that grow from seeds by 40%. | |||||||

Huge Nerf to Redwood tree spawning, much tighter conditions, same with the Purpleheart. Fix Mining Bag file reference as it moved. Added Sturdy Mining bag edit. These things are... very worth it. Added 2 new tree generators, one for large Oaks and one for large Acacia, remapped planted seeds of these to use the new generators. EPIC trees for all your decoration (and charcoal) purposes. They have a very very low chance of showing up during world generation as you explore, so if you find one, rejoice! Make a tree-house. The new Acacia has a 2x2 trunk. The actual working details of the tree generator is like reading ancient hieroglyphs to me, this was practice for a new tree type for Vintage Engineering btw. Meteorite Iron is rare, and near impossible to find without mods, so I made a few more Meteorite tools crazy good. Most all the meteorite iron edits are in zjustforfun.json, delete if you want to axe the edits. Added patch to make breaking locust nests easier, spending 20+ sections smacking these things with a pick is just... not fun. Made all reed-like plants grow faster. Tule is used in heavy amounts to make thatch roofing. | |||||||

Rather than cut the entire tree down in one shot, do what they actually do in real life with big trees. Start chopping near the top and work down. The axe will not chop 'down' only up and out.
Yeah, Oak trees need a lot more tuning down. I managed to cut one tree (had to cheat spawn steel axe) and all of the leaves remained just floating. There's so many leaves that they have their own gravity and never despawn.
And also maybe tune down grow time of large oak. I planted it on the evening and it fully grew till morning of the next day

I tried to make it a little easier to customize the mod to your liking, a couple new patch files were added with all the changes from other files for that function moved into them.
So all meteoric iron tool/weapon changes are all in one file, just delete that file to remove the changes.
Change to coke burn temp moved into its own file as well as this was a common thing people wanted to change. Just delete the file to remove the change.
The justforfun patch is now all the misc other tool/weapon changes.
Also updated the modID to comply with modDB standards. No capital letters for you!
JSON only mods, like this one, don't have a way of using a Mod config to alter it, unfortunatelly. Maybe if enough people ask the devs would figure out how to do that.
Is there a config file? Particularly to turn features on/off.
New version 1.2 handles Oak trees differently.
Normal Oak seeds grow base-game oak trees again. The generator is set to oldenglishoak.
Craft 2 normal seeds into a Large Oak Seed and plant to grow a Large Oak tree which uses a custom tree generator. This has been scaled down as well about 40%. Still big, but not as insane as it was.
Planted Acacia trees grow about 40% smaller than I had them before.
I will tone down the oak for sure.
I can confirm with cerbralone. The oak trees are so damn big now that they are impossible to cut down even with a steel axe. Broke 2 steel axes (quenched) and STILL didn't have the whole damn thing down.
Don't know if this is intended behavior, but this mod is causing all oak saplings to grow as these unreasonably large trees every time. If it is, may I suggest a rare special seed that can drop from oaks the causes that tree variant to grow. Otherwise great mod.
ok, found the issue... the servers hosted from this games site dont allow modding. the mod was in no way an issue.
tho im now trying to narrow down why charcal isnt falling lol. unless this mod stops it, its just something i need to figure out. (world setting for it is enabled)
Been using this on my MP server as well without any issues.
further testing... seems they just arnt responding to the server. they work in single player tho.
ill need to make sure some simple mistake wasnt made installing it server side when the server owner is online
Thoroughly tested on 1.20.6 and it's working fine.
no errors. after the last update a few days ago, i can only get client side mods to work. nothing that needs to be server side seems to work unless they got updated. i have 7 mods installed. they dont conflict... but they dont seem to work (aside from one, From Golden Combs)
i am using the one click installer option for the mods. i checked running them on servers, running them on single player, verified they were active in the mod menu...

Good to know. I had a feeling there were limitations in terms of planted trees. I haven't had a problem with the natural generation of these huge trees, and I quite like the way they look, so nonetheless, you did a great job.
I, too, like big meaty trees.
Regarding the new Large Oak and Acacia world-gen chances, they are very very rare. The general oak tree buffs are more common, and produce glorious oak trees. Smaller trees are still possible, of course.
The planted oaks, unfortunately do not have the option to have randomized variants that spawn that I have found. Unless I introduce a different seed type for smaller oaks. 1 seed -> 1 tree generator. Maybe this will be expanded in the future.
I like big trees, what can I say?
I could nerf the chances bigger oaks appear 'in the wild', but that wouldn't eliminate the planted ones being EPIC. Woe be to your axes if you want a big oak farm.
delete givemeredwoods.json to clear all tree related edits of this mod.
Regarding the Old English Oak tree variant, I like it, but I'm not sure if it even has any spawn limits, as all my saplings I placed that hadn't yet grown have now grown into full english oak trees. I found the file responsible and removed it, but I wonder if there's any plans for a limited spawn chance, whether I'm experiencing a bug, or whether that's even possible (I have no modding-knowhow).
Really good mod though, I appreciate the tweaks.

This is a pure JSON mod, there's no code to enable/disable features from a config.
Simply delete the JSON files of features you don't want to customize.
Are there mod options to disable/enable certain parts of this mod?
So delete justforfun patch from patches directory.
the only part of this I don't like is the Meteoric Iron Falx being made into a cheat weapon that deals 60 damage.
