NO LONGER NEEDED. MANUAL ORE CRUSH V2.2.2 NOW DROPS VANILLA NUGGET VALUES.
I'll Leave the patch up for older versions.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By default, manual ore crush drops the same amount of nuggets for all ores.
In vanilla, gold, silver and tin chunks contain less ore nuggets than the other ores. Because of this, manual ore crush becomes very unbalanced.

Requires Salty's Manual Ore Crush to be installed

With this patch, it will revert the dropcount behaviour back to vanilla values.

By default, salty's manual ore crush adds one extra nugget to all chunks so to completely get vanilla droprates you will have to edit the config file.
Technically, this mod just drops 2 less gold and tin and 1 less silver than the values you enter in the original mod's config file.

Supports Geology Additions and will drop it's tin and silver bearing ores at the same rate as the vanilla ores. This means the tooltip is incorrect.
If you don't want this, just download 1.0.0 which is identical except for the geology additions changes

Thanks to SaltyWater for creating his mod and if you're reading this, feel free to take the code and implement it.

Salty implemented the vanilla values of ore drops in v2.2.2 of his mod.

Hey there, just wondering if the obsolete label came from a decision on your part to stop updating the mod or from the fact it is not useful anymore due to an update on Salty's part?

💬 Qwerdo , Jun 8th at 8:50 PM

SaltyWater Feel free to take the mod an incorporate it. Maybe toggleable through the config file?

💬 Darcy, Jun 7th at 7:34 PM

Thanks so much! I'm really looking forward to using this mod. Cheers!

Darcy

I updated it so that it now drops geology additions' ores at the same rate as vanilla

Nice!!

thanks for giving people a alternative!! ^^

metasynthie That's correct, Salty's config only allows you to edit the number of nuggets from anything of a given chunk type (ie poor, medium, poor crystallized, etc). It has no settings for changing it based on the ore type.

Qwerdo Personally yeah, I think that's great! I didn't know those tin bearing materials dropped more nuggets than vanilla to begin with. But, in the interest of parity, I want to make sure that the Geology Additions ores aren't more valuable than the vanilla ores in my modpack anyway. They already add value by spawning more often/in more places, making tin and silver more accessible. Thanks so much!

So... if I'm understanding correctly, Salty's mod changes all the ore nuggets to drop exactly the same amounts, including gold, tin and silver. You can change this amount in Salty's config file (and lower it back to vanilla amounts for say, copper and iron) ... but without this mod you can't set the amount for various ores differently and restore the variance that exists in vanilla?

So, i had a look at geology additions. It's trivial to add a patch, i could do it in a couple minutes.
However, geology additions' behaviour of the tin bearing minerals (Franckeite and Teallite) and the silver bearing one (Freiburgite) actually drops more than the vanilla cassiterite.
If you still want me to patch it i can, but it would mean getting less ore drops than you would have originally from geology additions.
I'm not sure if the author of geology additions meant it to be this way.

I'll try to get in touch

Is this compatible with Geology Additions? It adds a few new sources of tin and silver.

edit: Just tested it and nothing breaks, but the modded tin sources behave as Manual Ore Crush normally would have them behave (ie. getting more nuggets than vanilla). Would compatibility between these mods be something you would consider adding?

PJB

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I believe by default it drops one extra nugget per chunk.
I'll add it to the description

Qwerdo

Thanks for making this!

If I recall correctly the default configs of Salty's mod are not the vanilla values.
So it might be best to mention in the description that users should change the config of the orignial mod as well if they want the actual vanilla values.

ChimMAG

It requires the original mod Manual Ore Crush
I'll add it to the description

💬 ChimMAG, Apr 7th at 5:54 PM

The mod doesn't run because it requires another mod to run, but this is not stated anywhere in its description.

Neat, thanks!
