Knapster
Access Modes
There are four different modes the server admin can set for each feature:
- Disabled: The feature is disabled for all players on the server.
- Enabled: The feature is enabled for all players on the server.
- Whitelist: The feature is only enabled for players who have been added to the whitelist.
- Blacklist: The feature is enabled for all players on the server, apart from those on the blacklist.
Settings Menu
Type /knapster gui to show the menu to be able to change the settings for the mod.
- General Settings: Change the scope of the settings to "Per World" or "Global".
- Feature Settings: Change the settings for each feature of the mod.
Easy Clay Forming
Provides an easier way for players to form clay items within the game.
- Adds a new mode to clay, when clayforming.
- Click and hold anywhere on the clayforming grid to place/remove voxels as needed, to complete the recipe.
- Server Admins can change the number of voxels handled per click (1-8) (Default: 1).
- Server Admins can enable instant completion of recipes
Easy Dough Forming
Provides an easier way for players to form dough items, when using Art of Cooking.
- Requires Mod: Core of Arts
- Requires Mod: Art of Cooking
- Adds a new mode to dough, when doughforming.
- Click and hold anywhere on the doughforming grid to place/remove voxels as needed, to complete the recipe.
- Server Admins can change the number of voxels handled per click (1-8) (Default: 1).
- Server Admins can enable instant completion of recipes.
Easy Grinding
Provides an easier way for players to grind resources in a quern.
- Server Admins can change the speed multiplier to make grinding faster, or slower. (x0-x10) (Default: x1).
- Server Admins can apply the speed multiplier to automated querns, as well as manual querns.
- Server Admins can choose to enable sticky keys. When active, the user will not need to keep the right-mouse button held down to keep the quern active.
Easy Harvesting
Provides an easier way for players to harvest grass, with a scythe.
- Server Admins can change the speed multiplier to make mixing ingredient faster, or slower. (x0-x10) (Default: x1).
- Server Admins can apply the speed multiplier to powered mixing bowls, as well as manual mixing bowls.
Easy Knapping
Provides an easier way for players to knap items within the game.
- Click and hold anywhere on the knapping grid to place/remove voxels as needed, to complete the recipe.
- Server Admins can enable instant completion of recipes.
Easy Mixing
Provides an easier way for players to mix resources in a mixing bowl. This feature is only available when the mod "A Culinary Artillery" is enabled within the same gameworld.
- Requires Mod: A Culinary Artillery
- Server Admins can change the speed multiplier to make mixing ingredient faster, or slower. (x0-x10) (Default: x1).
- Server Admins can apply the speed multiplier to powered mixing bowls, as well as manual mixing bowls.
Easy Panning
Provides an easier way for players to pan resources.
- Server Admins can change the time, in seconds, it takes to pan one layer of material. (0-10) (Default: 4).
- Server Admins can change the number of drops spawned per layer of material. (0-10) (Default: 1).
- Server Admins can change the saturation lost when panning a single layer of material. (0-10) (Default: 3).
Easy Pressing
The press doesn't need to be fully compressed before it can be unscrewed.
- Works automatically when enabled.
Easy Smithing
Provides an easier way for players to smith items on an anvil within the game.
- Adds a new mode to the hammer, when smithing.
- Click and hold anywhere on the smithing grid to place/remove voxels as needed, to complete the recipe.
- Server Admins can change the hammer durability loss per click (1-10) (Default: 5).
- Server Admins can enable instant completion of recipes.
Coming Soon
If you use the mod XSkills, you can use the addon mod XKnapster to add compatibility for Smithing skills and professions.
Compatibility: Anvil Metal Recovery
If you use the mod Anvil Metal Recovery, Knapster is fully compatible with it, and will not interfere with its functionality.
However, please be aware that the Anvil Metal Recovery mod does add a lot of lag when smithing items, due to the way it tracks metal usage on the anvil. This is not something that Knapster can control or fix. Using the Instant Complete option with Knapster can cause the game to hang for a few seconds while the Anvil Metal Recovery mod processes the metal recovery.
Compatibility: Smithing Plus
If you use the mod Smithing Plus, Knapster is fully compatible with it, and will not interfere with its functionality.
Easy Tilling
Provides an easier way for players to till farmland, with a hoe.
- Server Admins can change the speed multiplier to make tilling faster, or slower. (x0.1-x2.0) (Default: x1).
Chat Commands
All settings can be controlled via in-game chat commands.
Features: clayforming, doughforming, grinding, harvesting, knapping, mixing, panning, pressing, smithing, tilling
- /knapster scope [Global|World] - Change whether the mod should use global settings, or per world settings.
- /knapster <feature> mode [enabled|disabled|whitelist|blacklist] - Change the mode for the given feature.
- /knapster <feature> mode whitelist - Show players currently on the feature's whitelist.
- /knapster <feature> mode whitelist [player] - Add/Remove a player from the feature's whitelist.
- /knapster <feature> mode blacklist - Show players currently on the feature's blacklist.
- /knapster <feature> mode blacklist [player] - Add/Remove a player from the feature's blacklist.
- /knapster clayforming voxels [1-8] - Change the number of voxels handled per click.
- /knapster clayforming instant [on|off] - Clayforming items are instantly completed, on use.
- /knapster doughforming voxels [1-8] - Change the number of voxels handled per click.
- /knapster doughforming instant [on|off] - Doughforming items are instantly completed, on use.
- /knapster grinding speed [0.0-10.0] - Change the speed multiplier for grinding resources.

Important Notices
Unfortunately, I am unable to release mods for versions of the game that are pre-releases, or release-candidates. I work on updating all of my mods for compatibility, once the stable version of the game has been released. Please do not report any errors that occur while using this mod with untested versions of the game.

Not sure if it's intentional or not, but when paired with Smithing Plus, you get an insane amount of bits back. Like, more than a bars worth of bits. Might want to be looked into for server balancing.
Great mod. I would however really like it for single player, or even multiplayer, if it only becomes available for a mold after you have made that mold manully one time.
So,im not sure if iv done somthing wrong,but knapster only seems to be working when I set it to insant complete,at least with the knapping portion,i havnt tested the other parts yet,I havnt changed anything,just enabled all the features,and then when I tried knapping,it wouldnt work outside the traditional way of holding down left and trailing the outlined parts,but if I set it to instant complete,it would work just fine
There is an issue with whitelist mode. If I whitelist someone with the command for a feature they are only whitelisted until the next server restart. After which I have to rewhitelist them for that feature.
Got a server through winternode, tried everything to get this working again, we had it up and running on our last world but wiped recently, and now nothing is even showing up for Knapster, anyone know why?
It should work now. Please be aware that the Anvil Metal Recovery mod does add a lot of lag when smithing items, due to the way it tracks metal usage on the anvil. This is not something that Knapster can control or fix. Using the Instant Complete option with Knapster can cause the game to hang for a few seconds while the Anvil Metal Recovery mod processes the metal recovery.

Specifically with Knapster, yes. In general, the AMRR mod is working fine, and the modid matches what your v3.0.1 patch notes say: "metalrecoveryrevived"
I tried removing the server's mod unpack cache, had every client remove their modsbyserver and unpack cache and allow the mods to download again, but no luck.
With Knapster, or just in general? There was a request to add whatever the new knock-off ID is. There's three mods that this caters for now. I can never remember which clones are which.
Anyone having luck with Anvil Metal Recovery Revived actually working with the auto smithing? None of the players on my server can seem to make it work. 😅

The hoe usage speed change doesn't work. Still on default no matter the settings
I also had issues with panning, but only after opening the gui and changing any settings (not just panning related). After saving the settings, closing the game and restarting the launcher it worked again. Just restarting the game didn't help, needed a launcher restart.
I don't understand why it doesn't work for some people. Panning with this mod works. I've tested it hundreds of times.
Delete your Cache folder, and ModsByServer folder. That seems to have worked for some people.
Other than that, I don't know what to say. It works.
I have been having issues with being unable to pan. I went through the whole mod troubleshooting process they lay out in the wiki and sadly it came down to this mod. I am on the latest update of both this mod and the game. Hopefully that will resolve with the next update of knapster. Thank you for your hard work Apache.

I have a concern. Why is it that every time I try to change settings in the GUI tab it doesn't save even after I hit save changes, or stops working all together like the panning. After changing a setting in the panning tab, every time I use the pan, it gives absolutely nothing. Whether I set it to 1 or 10.

Knapster is not out of date, I can assure you of that. This website lies about the stability of mods. I wish the devs would fix it so that it doesn't say that. Ignore anything that says "Potentially Outdated". If it ever is outdated, I will inform you.
For anyone who is having issues, clear your mod cache folder, and your ModsByServer folders. All of my settings are now in the ModConfig folder, as of game version 1.21.0.
I'll be releasing a small stability update soon for Knapster. It was the first of all my mods to update, so I've had nine other mods worth of tweaks done to the kernel.

eerino I'm saying i think i've found a fix. I WAS having the same issue with the panning but after deleting the knapster folders in both the modConfig and modData and making the game regenerate them the issue seems to be solved so it could be some kind of corruption in the mod settings that is causing panning to not give loot. Just want to share the fix for others to try solve the issue themselves.
I was having the same issues with the panning, i turned knapster off and got drops but with it on, no matter what settings, i got nothing. i deleted all the knapster folders in both modConfig and modData and it seems to be working again for now, got loot straight away.
suggestion to improve accessibility: Add an option to make it so that when using Knapster for clayforming, smithing, etc you don't have to hold down the button? Some people don't want instant because it may feel cheaty since it takes away the time cost, and some others like me just enjoy getting to see the item coming together as its formed. However, some people can't keep holding down the button for long (similar to the reason you added no-holding quern, right?). So, would it be possible to take what you did for the Quern where it works without having to hold the button down, and apply that to smithing/knapping/clayforming/doughforming? it is basically the same issue at hand
but seriously thank god for this when it comes to smithing. I honestly could not really figure out how smithing works so knapster has otherwise been a godsend
unfortunately, it seems the instant smithing option in the mod config does not work? is this mod incompatible perhaps with the smithing plus mod? i can still use knapster for smithing, but basically the instant-complete option in the config does not make it instant for me.

Then crank the mod up to full; enable the Panning Feature, set saturation to 0.1, time to 0.1, and drops to 10. Sift through 20 gravel, and 20 boney soil. That's a sample size of 320 pans. It shouldn't take long. Then quit out of the game, zip your logs folder, and upload it within a ticket on the issue tracker. I can then sift through the logs, and see if anything is wrong. Especially if you don't get anything from that 320 pans, which equates to 3,200 rolls on the loot table.
I've had multiple comments here, but I haven't received a single bug report yet. If I ever get a bug report, I can investigate it at that point. But not until.

we're having the same issue as darvhin. No matter what settings we do or what block we pan, panning doesn't seem to give anything on our survival world. We've gone through 6 bone blocks and 5 blocks of sand. We even disabled the panning modification, and for whatever reason, still not a single thing dropped.
The settings are per world by default. Try it in your Survival world. `/gm c` to enter Creative Mode, give yourself some boney soil to test with, then `/gm s` to go back to Survival Mode. `/knapster gui` to change the settings for the mod. If the settings were wrong, you can get back the resources you should have had, and get rid of the rest.
Now I'm confused. When I tried it on Creative, it worked. But when I went back to my Survival save, it didn't.
Apache Thank you for the reply! I tried it on a creative world and ramped the drops as you said—and got items on my first try. Maybe I was just really unlucky, I guess...

Darvhin, can you check the settings for Panning, and make sure that your Drops Per Layer isn't set to 0. Ramp it up to 8 drops per layer, and see if you get anything then. If that doesn't yield anything, try with that feature Disabled. I've tried this in my test world, and everything works as expected. There is a chance from Boney Soil that you don't get any drop. The settings with this allows you X rolls on the loot table each time you pan, it doesn't change the loot table mechanics at all.
I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I find it weird that I didn't get any drops from panning 5 blocks of Boney Soil. I feel like I should still get some or something.
Apache Yeah it happened again today and that worked thanks. Not sure what I did last time that fixed it then, idk how I didn't think of the cache lol.
DeathClawz, it uses ModConfig now, not ModData. Delete your Cache and ModsByServer folders, and try again.
I was trying to use knapster with smithing for 2 voxels & 2 durability, but it would move 2 voxels for a few frames and then bring 1 back to where it was and just take 1 durability.
I saw that the ModConfig and ModData folders both had knapster folders, but the ModData folder had no files, so I copied the ModConfig files over and reloaded my world and now the issue is resolved.
I also didn't have the chat commands other than the gui command, not sure if they were removed on purpose since they're still on the mod page here. I think it would be better to have both the chat commands and the gui.
Vigilance, can you create an issue within the issue tracker please. I think I know the issue, but I'll need your log files to be sure.
After not getting the smithing settings to set properly, I tried to use the new fancy GUI. On setting something, I got kicked out. When reconnecting, after clicking a voxel with Split (the auto complete is still not there) I instantly get kicked out. Both are gantry errors. The errors are decently long, but I can provide them if they'd be helpful. The initial kick was:

with the follow-up kick being a thrown exception that looked about the same as above.
Apache, not even remotely trying to hurry you, but playing these last few days without Knapster has reminded me just how important and valuable your work is. Getting older and my eyes and fine motor skills aren't what they used to be and knapping and clayforming is such a drag. Thank you, yet again, for making such an impact. <3
I seem to recall - sometime in the past - this mod allowing players to make knapping harder as well? Removing the guardrails, and allowing them to knap the wrong bits of stone if they weren't careful. Am I conflating this with some other mod in my memory, perhaps? Or is that an option in Knapster that I'm not seeing?

It's been a bit since I've played. Last time I used this mod it didn't interact properly with xskills (not giving xp for doing tasks) and I can't remember if that was a compatibility issue on your side or theirs, nor if it was fixed. Does this work with xskills?

Anyway, I always swap control and shift (why the opposite is default honestly confounds me) and using control was not working.
But of course it wasn't because it's remapped to shift.

BlockBerryJam, knapping doesn't have a "Tool Mode" window. If EasyKnapping is enabled for you, then it will work. Remember that knapping is Left Click, not Right Click. If you hold down Ctrl while knapping then it will disable knapster for that click.
Loving the mod and I don't usually have any issues so it's probably a conflict, just can't imagine what with.
The stone knapping is the only aspect affected but I am only able to use the auto complete function for stone knapping
Pressing 'F' doesn't bring up other modes and it doesn't say "press 'F' for other options" like it does for clayforming/smithing.
Not a huge deal.
For those who have asked and or are new to the mod, there isn't a config file like other mods, you just run the commands listed above in game (or from a hosted server's console).
Also thanks for the mod, I'm also a carpel tunnel person so it helps make the 'painful' parts of the game unpainful. :)

I absolutly like this mod. I do have 1 suggestion, the more you practice a skill, such as knapping, the faster it gets.
I know this works with Thrifty Smithing, but I would really love it if you could make it compatible with SmithingPlus's specific bit recovery feature. I've been using Thrifty Smithing with SmithingPlus's feature turned off, but I really like how Smithing Plus gives you the bits back immediately after you split with the hammer instead of once you finish the work item.

question, I see below there's a mention of the anvil metal recovery mod, but then someone else asked about the anvilmetalrecoveryrevived mod and how knapster doesn't work with it...
So my question is this: Does knapster support metal bits being returned while smithing at the anvil via the thrifty smithing mod? Is it just the auto-complete that would be affected? And lastly, if it just doesn't work at all, can i disable the hammer modes to preserve my thrifty smithing's metal bit refunds while still enjoying the knapster functionality for clayforming?
As the mod already do something to smithing, is there a possibility to have a command to impact the speed of the hammer when hitting the anvil?

Love the mod. I don't have low manual dexterity, but I play permadeath on the regular and making an anvil mold for the humpeeth time just gets tedious.
Thank you so much for making this mod! I'm disabled and have poor motor control as a result; as well as being prone to muscle jerks, spasms, etc. Knapping in game was so difficult with my health and only about half my clicks were ever where I meant them to be while knapping. This makes it so much easier and really spares me the struggle that my actual physical condition entails.

If you have an issue with the mod, then submit an issue in the issue tracker provided; giving full details of the error, and a zipped copy of your logs folder. Without that, your bug will never be fixed, and your mod will remain broken, and unusable.

I just updated and now I don't have the auto function anymore for claymaking. To be clear I updated my mods. I was already running 1.20 with the old version of knapster.
I updated a few mods so maybe else something is interfering. :(

Silverfang, You can hold Ctrl while knapping to disable the auto-fill.
0 = Disabled: The feature is disabled for all players on the server.
1 = Enabled: The feature is enabled for all players on the server.
2 = Whitelist: The feature is only enabled for players on the whitelist.
3 = Blacklist: The feature is enabled all for players, except for player on the blacklist.
In the config files it shows mode 1, would that be "enabled", and "disabled" would be mode 0?
Also would you consider having a setting in stone knapping so that the auto knap is right click and the manual is left click? I like having the option to do either without having to enable/disable each time I want to try. Clay forming has that as an option by pressing F to change toool modes, but stone knapping is either on or off.
Wouldn't say I have low dexterity, but after 200 hours, making flint knives and smithing plates just isn't fun anymore. Thanks for the mod!

It's a client-side only mod, so good for servers, and it adds a lot of accessibility functionality. I never play without it now.
This mod is essential for my enjoyment of the game. Partly because I don't like the pottery grind and partly because I have motor issues where small constant movements like knapping/pottery requires in VS causes me pain after several minutes of doing it.
The fact this mod is activatable "on the fly" from tool selection to choose whether you want to do it manually or not makes it agreeable to all my friends. Some of them think the grind is worth doing and think it's cheap to just "do it automatically" but don't want to force it on me to have to literally hurt myself to do pottery (because I am typically the one doing pottery, as the most experienced player who remembers all the molds we need and how many we want of them).
Thank you for all your work on this and the settings you set up for it. Accessibility and customization are very important to me.

+1 for holding-RMB bypass functions. Stuff like having to squeeze honeycombs, holding RMB down to press fruit, etc., all drive me crazy - I think it's a symptom of ADHD called "time dilation"? Just having to sit there for a few seconds doing nothing but hold RMB makes it feel like it takes years.
Also, is there any chance we could get integration with Anvil Metal Recovery for the smithing feature? I realize it's unlikely, but the ability to save metal bits when manually splitting makes me continue to do so when I could be using the instant smithing feature from this mod. Sorry if someone's asked this before.

Panning is actually fine, but instead of a multiplying the speed right now it divides the "work" needed so if you set speed to 0.1x it's 10 times faster than 1x
This is really useful! As a suggestion, would it be possible to have a toggle for the hold RMB prompts? Holding down the button for long periods of time in succession like when I'm forging multiple plates, mail etc at once can still be a bit taxing, and it would mean server admins can keep instant smithing disabled but it's still accessible.

Can I suggest adding a tilling feature? I'm trying to make a large-scale rice farm (like a paddy field) on the side of a hill, and the current tilling speed with a hoe will take forever to do block by block.

Kief, sometimes, recipes require more than one ingot to complete. There are some annoying recipes that only use a few voxels from the second ingot.
Smithing can actually fail. Recently I was left with 2 unfilled squares and nothing else to move around. Now I'm afraid to use the auto smithing mode.
i love knapping and clayforming, i find them so relaxing... but my developing carpal tunnel does not LOL. thank you for saving my poor abused muscle everything i love causes carpal tunnel </3

I looked through the comments here and entered the commands /knapster clayforming mode enabled and /knapster knapping mode enabled. I was able to knap a spearhead using the mod. Will try out clayforming later.
DiZek, that's true. The XP will be affected as well. This mod effectively turns your arm into a Helve Hammer. XSkills penalises XP gain from Helve Hammer hits. Both mods re-write parts of the smithing, and clayforming processes, so there will be issues using both of them together. At the moment, I'm not sure I'd want to change that. It's always possible turn off Knapster while levelling skills up.
Just wanted to share this with anyone whom it may concern!
If you use this mod to auto-complete the Metalworking (Smithing) and have xSkills (Metalworking trait that gives a quality to items smithed on the anvil) that you MUST COMPLETE the item using the regular method (in the F menu) for it to apply a quality to the item.
I am unsure if this affects other things such as experience gained for Metalworking or Pottery or any other auto-completing stuff.
That aside, thanks again for making this mod. Very happy with it and saves me a ton of pain :)

Easy Mixing Bowl
Provides an easier way for players to mix resources in a mixing bowl. This feature is only available when the mod "A Culinary Artillery" is enabled within the same gameworld.

This is likely an unreasonable question, but is there a way to implement the incresed quern/automated quern speed for Expanded Food's mixing bowl and automated mixing bowl? I'd find that exceptionally useful.

Hi, the mod is not working for my version (1.19.4), for example when I write in the chat box /knapster k enable, I get the following: insufficently set up command - no handlers or subcommands set up, I don't know why :c

Bug report: Is anyone else having trouble using the latest version with the mod "Primitive Tools"? The auto knapping is not working with the stone pickaxe from that mod for me. If I revert to the previous version of Knapster, it works fine again.
I found a file that wasn't merged into the assembly, which may have caused issues with Linux. I've merged it all together now, so hopefully, it will work. I have no way of testing anything on Linux. Windows is much better.

Roughgalaxy I seem to be having the same problem. I'm trying to active it through the commands but the console tells me that there are no such commands. Haven't found the solution yet.
Edit: Issue resolved. It seemed to not be working on one specific save I had. Other saves are fine.
So I've been giving this a try and the knapping and panning don't seem to be working for me (1.19.3) but the clayforming and smithing work great! Wondering if user error. not running on a server or anything

The act of smithing does, indeed, seem to work. I did notice that one of the skills you can unlock for Metalsmithing that allows you to recover bits when you do a certain number of Splits doesn't, though. I'll keep digging.
DrBubba, I've never actually tried. But, you're post sounds very much like you're volunteering to experiment. Haha. I would imagine it would, because it patches the core functionality of the different skills. With Smithing, it pretty much re-writes the whole smithing process, and turns your arm into a helve-hammer. It would be interesting to find out how well they play together.

Holding off on more Vintage Story for this mod, as clayforming and knapping manually cause pain these days. Definitely looking forward to the update.
This is the only mod that matters when considering moving to 1.19.
Well now its the stable version of 1.19.1 and 1.19.0, both stable and i wish i had it now, bc clay forming and metal forming are my biggest dislikes "sad face" :{
I agree with Liam, it is well worth the wait and I understand why the author doesn't want to update until the full release of a new version happens. It can take a lot of work to create some of these mods and if the dev was to make a change to the way something is handled, it could create twice the work for the author to fix it after trying to update for one of the pre release candidates. I just want to give a big thank you to the author (Apache) for making this mod and maintaining it. I have carpal tunnel and this mod is a huge benefit for me and I am sure others like me. I consider this mod essential to have working for me to move to a new version.

Ingvard, I've found a couple of problems with instant complete. Mainly with blooms. You can lose the work item. I've added an issue to my tracker, and I'll work on it this week.
Fantastic, I also replicated the rotation issue with a piece of chainmail. The other issue I am having, if not unique to me or user error, is that instant complete for smithing doesnt seem to be working.
McTaco, This is a known issue that cannot easily be resolved. I need to refine the logic a bit more, to take into account rotation. It's a lot of trial and error though. Thanks for the feedback.
Tested 2.6.0 works perfectly. F menu option for auto fill and functionally.
There was a small bug where when smithing an iron bloom, the auto fill kept moving a bit back and forth instead of progressing, right click to rotate the work item allowed the auto fill to resume work properly.

Can there be a configuration option to hold CTRL for auto-knapping and use vanilla knapping by default instead?
Sometimes I want to do the actual knapping just for fun and the auto-knapping is secondary.

Do you think it would be possible to make an "easy fruit pressing" module? Holding right click for 8s on the fruitpress screw is starting to drive me crazy.
I just want to thank you for this mod. I have unreliable hands, trying to make it work with the vanilla system was very hard so this mod makes the game much more enjoyable.
With the issue on Steam Deck. The problem seems to be that you do not have the full version of Mono (mono-complete) installed on the machine.

I created an issue here: [BUG] Load failure on steamdeck · Issue #4 · ApacheTech-VintageStory-Mods/ApacheTech.VintageMods.Knapster (github.com) with the error. It seems at a glance to be the same as the PetAI crash (which I've linked in the bug issue). But I'd let someone with more (any, as I have none!) VS mod experience weigh in on this.
Separately confirming what Virvius is saying. An excellent mod that I enjoy deeply enjoy on my PC, which would make taking Vintage story on the go a lot easier.
On Steam Deck, the mod appears properly in the in-game mod menu, but whenever I try to use the /knapster commands. it doesn't recognize the command.
I performed the debugging mentioned earlier in the thread related to deleting the cached version and extracting to a separate folder, but the issue persisted.
I'll also go hunt for log files, I have some time this weekend I can hopefully throw at this. Just wanted to chime in and say its reproducible and not a one-off thing.
Appreciate your work on the mod, it's been saving my wrists these last few weeks.

Virvius, I have no idea tbh. The last time I used a controller, was playing Tekken 2, on a PS2. I've never even seen a Steam Deck, not alone used one. And I've never heard of the phrase "flatpack", other than IKEA style furniture.
For now I'd say to check your log files, if you can. See if there's any exceptions being caught on there. Can you open a support ticket on GitHub (Issue Tracker link, above)? I'll be able to track this a lot more easily from there.
Hi, first of all, this mod is amazing! It's a great solution for situations where knapping/crafting is time consuming to the detriment of the game. Unfortunately, while the best argument for this mod seems to be for using a game controller (knapping with a controller is awful), I ran into an issue:
The mod does not seem to work with a steam deck! (at least for me). Is this possibly a flatpack issue? When I try to use /knapster , the game doesn't recognize the command, although the mod says it's loaded in the main menu. Knapster doesn't seem to be running by default, either. Maybe it's running into the flatpack issue with library imports?

`/knapster knapping voxels [1-8]` to increase the number of voxels per click, when knapping; up to a maximum of eight.
`/knapster smithing voxels [1-8]` to increase the number of voxels per click, when smithing; up to a maximum of eight.
These are server-side settings, so if you are on a server, you'll need to ask the server admin about increasing the number of voxels per click.
In a single-player game, you'll be able to use the commands yourself.

2: My one and only critique is that I assumed this would be like the Copy & Paste mode already in the game – which is pretty fast, probably 5 or 6 voxels at a time. As it is, one voxel at a time means you are going to be holding down the action key for a LONG TIME for most recipes. That is equally (if not more) painful for my wrists and tendons than just putting in the voxels manually. So far, my solution has been to precariously balance my controller (with its own weight pressing down the action trigger) and leave it there for the 10 minutes it takes to click through every single voxel. (Maybe go make a cup of tea.) Your mod has given me that option, but it hasn't taken away the underlying issue. If anything, it's just created different ones.
I can understand why you didn't do multiple voxels at a time (I assume it's so people can backtrack) but if that's the case I really think you should add two modes, fast (multiple voxels) and slow (one voxel). I can't speak for other hand/dexterity issues, but I can't imagine most people with effed up wrists are going to be able to hold down a controller trigger or a mouse button for ~10 minutes at a time. (At least, not without some amount of pain.)
Regardless, I love this mod, it's a lifesaver. Course I don't know anything about programming so I have no idea if those changes would be easy to implement, but I do hope to see them someday! In the meantime, I will continue to use this mod and just play a game of "jerryrig the controller" every time I need a storage vessel.

I did play around with the Napster logo, to see if I could integrate it into this logo, but nothing looked right. :P I also tried playing around with Metallica puns, because it's about Knapping, and Metalworking, but got nowhere. I'm happy with Knapster though. :D
