MetallicGal It still works fine, there is nothing in this mod or quackpack that really needs to update. Both my mod here and quackpack just add new instruments, but all of the code the would might require changes on game updates is within the Instruments mod
i would install but the Quackpack is out of date
0ddity_Gaming There is not. I could look into possibly adding that in the future. For now the best way would make a json patch mod and just disable the crafting recipes for them.
is there a way to disable certain instruments via a config file?
Shyral I sent you a friend request on discord!

Models completed! Well... not the Ocarina. I'll need some more time on that abomination, but the rest are done!
I do want some direction on the textures though, I went a little creative on the electric guitars, and they may not be too fitting with the rest of the game. I'd upload an image here but any link I use doesn't work, and the site doesn't support image uploads natively as far as I can tell.
I'd like to get them uploaded to the DB though, but I'd need your help with that seeing as you're the mod author, otherwise I'd have to make a fork, which I shall do if I don't hear from you by next week.
All in all, models complete, Textures questionably complete, transforms are halfway there but should be quick to complete.
I'm off to play the game! Please contact me, I'm free for the next couple days.
AriesLR Heya! I've been at work over the weekend, but I do plan on finishing the rest of the instrument models Tomorrow or the day after, if you could add me on Discord so we can better collaborate that'd be great.
Well I've tried to add an image to this comment several times, but it's just not posting.
I have a discord though! shyassasain or Shyassasain#9428 <O>
Shyral If you finish the models and would like them implemented in this mod I'd be more than happy to add them and add you as an author on the mod.
captanredbeard At this point since it's taken me so long to get around to making the models myself I'm more open to taking on some help with models. Obviously both comments I'm replying to here are offering the same thing, but I'm not opposed to a group effort.
I do have more sounds ready as well I just need to find the time to actually add them.
Howdy!
So. I saw that this pack had no unique models for the various cool instruments. Me, having 0 modding experience in any game, decided this morning that it'd be super easy to whack out a few models.
3 hours pass and due to a capital letter in a file name I was driven absolutely insane. But I did it! I made the worlds worst looking Ocarina.
Moving on from that disaster I spent the next 3 hours modelling a banjo, much better, very cool. Just had to.. why won't it... Rotate properly... GRR. Anyway did it, it even leans against the wall properly.
bass guitar after that! WoW amazing! I hate past me for thinking this would be easy. But I'm doing it anyway.
Well I just thought I'd let you know I'm taking a terrible stab at modelling these instruments. Save from the ocarina (shudder), I'm quite pleased with how the Banjo and bass guitar have turned out, and I'll probably also be doing the rest if that's ok with you : )
AriesLR Planning on checking this out for a server I'm helping run, I can ask if anyone in the server would want to help model in excahnge for more instruments ingame.
You might want to try contacting the other instruments addon authors, or setting up a source location for your mods if you don't mind people using your work in their own mods, thataways people can easily contribute to your projects and your code can feed other mods.
feel free to DM me in the VS discord server if you need anything man.
RaptorMother I considered it, but it seems that mod hasn't been touched since a day after it was created. I figured it would be easier in the long run to do it myself rather than pull the mod authors of that mod into this. While they accomplish the same things I do plan to add quite a few more instruments and then later on I will come through and make the models for them. Sounds shouldn't be much of an issue as I know where the instruments mod author got their sounds and there's quite a few more available to be added on top of what I already have. Devlopment time is kinda slow as I run my own server on top of working on a few different mods and 1 program, I guess you could say I have a full plate. Eventually I plan to get the models done, but I'll likely finish all of the instruments I plan to add with placeholder models until I get to that point.
have you had a chat with the folks at https://news.kalataka.ru/vsinstrumentsaddon ?
I feel like yall could collaborate on soundfonts and models
