It works as long as the recipe in In Dappled Groves is unchanged. It works for 1.21.
Seems like this isn't working anymore with the 1.21 version :(

RemyDuron - In Dappled Groves changes the balance between coal and charcoal immensely. Yes, that was an intentional and deliberate balance change for the mod. I do see this mod's changes as undermining the intended experience, but there's no reason anyone should play the way it was intended. That's what mods are for after all! I was just making the point that, in the concept of the intended experience, it isn't "Additional work", it's the intended level of work or I would have left the grid recipes in. The Log Splitter was developed as an advancement point for this reason, and I'm glad to see this mod developer followed that tradition. Either way:

Vinter_Nacht It absolutely is "extra work" compared to the base game though. It takes a LOT more time and a ton more clicks. Balance in Vintage Story is largely based on how long things take, In Dappled Groves changes the balance between coal and charcoal immensely.
Abed - I have no issue with this mod existing, but xCoiotex is absolutely right. If the in-world crafting process was intended to change the firewood balance, it would have. It's not supposed to be "extra work", or the grid crafting recipes would still exist. It's supposed to be "appropriate work." That being said, I certainly don't fault anyone for wanting or using this.
Extra work should bring extra benefits 😁 👍
