A simple compatibility patch for Butchering to add Fauna of the Stone Age animals that are not covered by the Butchering Compat Patch. Like that patch this just adds configs to allow the animals to be hooked & butchered while using the generic placeholder models - there are no custom models or textures added. Combined with that compat patch this should cover all the FotSA animals (as of now).
At upload time I've done pretty much just the bare minimum to add the configs, set some vaguely reasonable-sounding numbers for the drops and stats, and do a spot check that it wasn't immediately and obviously broken, so use at your own risk.

Hello ! I just made a patch for this compat mod https://news.kalataka.ru/show/mod/25423 .
I needed that compatibility for a modpack I'm working on, so I made it work :)
I don't own any of the ideas or code, I just added the missing value needed to make the compatibility mod works with the last maj of the butchering mod.
If the original authors of any of the concerned mods make an update in that sense, I'll gladly removed this one.
In the meantime I hope it helps !
Hey there,
first of all, thanks a lot for creating this compatibility patch.
I’ve run into an issue: I can butcher and skin vanilla animals just fine on the hook, but none of the modded animals (like vombatidae, aptornithidae, etc.) work. I can hang them up, but nothing happens when I try to interact with them.
I tried to fix it by adding this line to the respective files, for example:
assets/butcheringcompatpatch/itemtypes/butchercreatures/bovinae/bovinae.json"butcheringWorkLoad": "small",(right before
"maxstacksize", as suggested in a comment by the main mod author)Unfortunately, this didn’t fix the problem. Even newly spawned animals don’t react.
Am I missing something? Any help would be really appreciated! 😊
Hello there! Butchering author here, just updated and added a butchering workload modfier to all item butcherable items.
All you would need to do is add "small" "medium" or "large" to this modifer like so:
"butcheringWorkLoad": "large",
Please try to respect the fact I reserve "large" for bear+ in size creatures and "small" for well, smaller than a pig creatures.
Thank you for you mod and happy butchering!
JustaKobold There shouldn't be any changes to the base animal drops, though some animals also have the added butchering mod drops of primemeat / sinew / offal.
Katt19 I'll see if I can do that whenever I have time to do an update, but in the meantime if you really need to use it in an older version you should just be able to open up the zip file and update the version number in the modinfo.json using something like notepad.
Does this keep the FOtSA levels of meat and fat? That modder was going for realistic levels of meat and I prefer to keep it in line with his thinking.
Thank you so much xD I was literally debating with myself to make this kind of patch as it bugged me and was just checking for updates to butchering itself and stumbled upon this mod. Thank you :)
Could you make this compatible with older versions? I'm playing on 1.20.6 and it doesn't let me use it because it says it requires 1.20.9 (I can't update my game yet)
Thank you so much for this mod! I wasn't using those FOTSA mods because of the incompatibility, and now I'm very excited to add them!
