Tired of being absolutely unable to find lime? This mod offers an extremely simple version of making mortar from bones, through cooking bonemeal into quicklime (this is supposed to represent charred bonemeal). Go forth! Be free of painful worldgen limitations! Mortar your entire darned world!

KodaPop Please do. other mods adding ways to get lime tend to break for whatever reason.
JSON structure/domain must have changed since the upload of this version because it no longer works. Although it is an easy mod to generate yourself with the ModMaker.exe
If nobody else does, or the mod author doesn't update the mod, I might upload a working version because I hate spawning into a world without chalk/limestone/borax :p
@Gojira_Tanaka, this is a json mod. It should work as long as Vintage Story does.
Does anyone know if this mod still works in 1.20? I already use Ancient Tools as an alternative for leather making, but there are other things I want to make that require lime, like a different mod that requires it to make wool and fleece stuff as an alternative to flax.
CaptMustache, there's absolutely no reason that this shouldn't work in 1.18.7 as-is. It's a very simple json mod. Try it out for yourself and let me know!

Yesterday I learned that wood ash can be used as a source of lime.

As an unrelated note, this is designed to specifically allow one to make mortar without access to lime normally (if you want to make leather without regular access to lime, I would highly recommend looking at Ancient Tools' alternative leathermaking process), because it hurts that something as simple as making mortar is locked behind finding lime. I could be convinced to make cooking bonemeal just turn into lime! I accept bribery in the form of cute animal pictures.

Oh the mod doesn't install correctly was the issue! The mod is in a folder inside the zip folder rather than just being inside the zip folder
Hm. Might need to, uh, science it a bit. Let me check. It should just be tossing the bonemeal into a firepit.
How exactly do I cook it into lime? Can't put it in the oven or firepit or cooking pot or crucible
