R.Better Fire
A small JSON modification that makes fire and smoke particles a little more realistic
- -Torch (Reduced the fire particles in the hand so that the particles would not overlap the screen so much)
- -Bonfire (Smoke flies higher)
- -Open flame (the one you set on fire, for example, a tree in the forest) (Smoke flies higher, sparks now fly in different directions)
It's better to see for yourself than read the description!)

First and possibly last release! | |||||||
I tried it on 1.21.1 and I think it's still working but correct me if I'm wrong.
EDIT: 1.21.2 mentions more intense particles for torches, might be worth checking how that works with this mod when it drops.
Cool thx for that info I'll mess around with it!
FatherSarge As far as I understand, in this case everything depends on the particle system, LODs and rendering, I can’t influence this, but I would advise you to dig around with these parameters in the game settings
LordOri
Still works in 1.21.0-rc4... but any chance there's a way to increase the distance the the fire becomes rendered for the player? Currently it looks like the firepits become "loaded" at about 40 blocks out, and unload at around 50 or 60 blocks. Would kinda be cool if you could see the fire (and therefore the smoke particles) from 300-400 blocks out or greater. Maybe a configurable option.
I think this mod makes it harder to see fire up close, almost as if it replaces fire particles with smoke particles
BlueSteelAU yes
Does the smoke and particles follow the wind direction and then no wind just do straight up
Silhouette Sorry, but I don't know how. There are no parameters specified for particles in the bomb file, so I don't know how to apply the shader to the other smoke sources.
Would it be possible to apply the "smooth edge particles" they showcased with bombs to smoke particles?
MarximusMaximus 1.20 yes
1.20?
RuneScholar
the total number of particles is only slightly different from vanilla, so it should not affect performance at all, I changed more the behavior and not the quantity
Oh, cool, I was waiting for a mod like this!
RuneScholar Shouldn't be too much trouble since you can set the max number of particles in the game option menu.
Is there any chance of this mod causing performance issues due to the increased smoke particles?
