SHOULD WORK WITH PLAYERMODELLIB .29+!
The Beasts of Men
A themed character pack based on popular monster girls.
Hoppers
A race of Leporidae. They have long, often floppy ears and short, bushy tails.
Alphas
A race of Canines. These encompass dogs, wolves, and foxes as some of their most notable subspecies. They have pointed ears and long, furry tails.
Longshanks
A race of Muridae. This encompasses mice, rats, and other small vermin. They have rounded ears and short, skinny tails. Their size also allows them to fit through smaller holes.
Purrlian
A race of Felines. This encompasses both large and small cat species. They have pointy ears and long, skinny, haired tails.
Windstriders
A race of Avians. This encompasses birds of all sizes and colorations. They have wings either along their arms or sprouting from their backs and feathered plumage from their waist.
More races! These will come out as their own standalone mods for people who might prefer not to have 40 whole things to choose from! I intend to do a fantasy pack (already have hobbits ready with their size along with goblins), more monstrous races (slimes, lamia, etc), and anthro races (because this started off as me making my own furry model).
'You should change Alpha into something not cringe!'
You should make your own mod.
'I saw your post on reddit and now I'm curious when you'll add traits. Are you working on that?'
Yup. Working on it.
'I'd like to add my own coloration/entire race to this but don't know how. How could I get that in?'
Link a picture and maybe I can work on it. I also intend on adding a tutorial on how to make your own races through the playerlib mod. At the moment I'm working on trying to figure out how to stabilize some of the issues below so I do not feel comfortable doing paid work or commissions
'Why are you adding furry things to vintage story? Is it because of Hytale??'
I have had an interest in this game long before Hytale devs were hired on.
'Did anyone ever actually ask these questions? This mod just came out!'
I've been posting WIPs on Reddit. Almost all of these questions or sentiments have been shared.
'My breasts stick out of this armor from this other mod and my mouse looks weird in these other modded clothes.'
Share the mod and I can maybe make a patch for it. Every piece of clothing and armor that you might want to wear requires its own modded shape for the female body or the mouse's reduced size. Mice, for example, have a resized version of every wearable in the game at the moment. There might be a smarter way to handle resizing these things. If anyone would like to offer a solution who has modding experience with Vintage Story, let me know.
'Combat Overhaul? Combat Overhaul!? COMBAT OVERHAUL!?
It seems to work. If there are any issues let me know. Even the Longshanks seem to work with Combat Overhaul despite their reduced size.
At the moment, the only dependency should be with player model lib.
The reason for this is that it adds the functionality to easily import other models into the game using the basic seraphim template as well as providing other functionality like resizing your hitbox. It's made by the same person who made the Combat Overhaul mod so hopefully it'll continue to improve and get better as he seems pretty fucking intelligent.
-Longshanks have odd clipping with specific parts of clothes. There doesn't seem to be a way to override the shapes on 'overlay' segments of clothes. This is things like collars of shirts, etc. The ideal workaround is to either not wear those particular garments or have long hair. I'm working on trying to find a way to get it to work.
-Certain racial parts will have some texture thrashing issues when they're perfectly overlaid over each other. I've snuffed this out for most places where it comes up, but there may be clothes with unusual forms I might've missed. Never hesitate to post which clothes are doing it so I can either adjust the clothing shape or the racial shapes.
-Small races won't fit in modded clothes. Link the mod down below and I'll work in a patch for them.
-With Combat Overhaul, you'll need to adjust your arm height in the interface settings when playing different sizes!

I wonder if this mod is getting updated so that every new haistyle is included?
Entropoly No texture mods to my knowledge, will double check as well as do a clean install for it.
Game is V1.21.4(stable)
Update: no joy, every other mod (not player model lib) was turned off and the issue still appeared, I wish I could be of more assistance.
Thank you either way.
Wolf
Any news on when the new update for this is going to drop? c:
Wolf42 Any mods that change clothes or textures in general? What version of the game are you on? Not seeing the exact same problem, but it's going on the fix-it list with a few other things if I can figure out where this is coming from.
Entropoly
Ran into a bug, the fem models were unable to load clothing properly and were displaying basically a white dress over the model. Happens on all classes to some extent (commoner shown below.) Not running anyother playermodel mods so I am uncertain as to which would be causing it.
Thank you for the mod in the meantime!
Humbly requesting lizard girls with horns and tails.
hi! this looks cool, does it work with Kenomo?
IzuZoomie Well, here you go. Check it out and let me know if you think it could be better in any way!
Entropoly the new pack you're working on sounds like it's going to be right up my groups alley, super nice. Not many of them enjoyed the Monster Girls, but I feel like the new mod might be their thing for sure. Super excited to see this mod and the new mod flourish, now that you mentioned how much things have been simplified!
Resserfi is something broken? I just booted it up a second ago and it was working. I'm working on a subsequent mod with more fantasy races (Builders Of Men, going with a theme I guess) and that'll be the next big thing I make. Then I'll go back and clean this one up as time hasn't been kind to it (a few pieces of new clothing to get, more resizing options, and pruning a lot of excessive/unneeded stuff that playermodellib now supports natively(resizing character models was ORIGINALLY DONE by simply making a model at 75% scale and making an alternative clothing set for ALL the clothes at that size. Now I can just make playermodellib resize to 75% by default it seems)). Update soonish in that regard but otherwise I'll be releasing a new mod shortly.
PrinceShuu Batlike can easily be folded into the stuff I have for the bird people so I'll put that on the growing list of things to do. A simple, more humanoid 'undine' race (just people with fish ears) is planned for the next mod I have coming out with some of the experience I've been getting adding in custom traits to add things like breathing underwater.
smt923 I'll put them on the list! They're after Rustbound Magic.
OmegaEclipse85 However Female Seraph managed to have numerous body types is smarter than I'll ever be. I'll look at it and see if I can't patch it or just ask the maker if I can co-op some of their work into my own mod with attributions.
IzuZoomie The ability to scale your model was added after I made this mod, but I'll definitely go through and add in more of that when I update this one later. As a purely 'fun' mod, I can't see ANY harm in letting people go as small as 10% and as large as however the interger for that goes. Ideally I can set up a config for server owners to enable or disable this (if they can't just tell their players to be a certain height) but I don't think a LOT of servers that would care about silly height shenanigans would use a mod like this.
when update?
I'd love it if there was a Bat-like race and an Aquatic Race.... Fishmen or Merpeople kind of idea.
love this mod, is there any chance we could get a compatability patch for the few extra clothing in wool & more (https://news.kalataka.ru/wool)? and possibly american frontiersman (https://news.kalataka.ru/americanfrontiersman)?
this might be a big ask but is there a way we could get the Viking hair mod(valkyrjahair), Female Seraph mode and more undergarments mod to work with this so we can have more body types to work with. by the way I also just want to say I really love this mod it's really good.
more freedom for player height customization would be neat, I'm not sure how well it would work with the animations and such as already mentioned a few posts below, but it would be fun to mess around with.
Can confirm the tester version of this mod works well on 1.21.0 (at least in singleplayer both SP and MP work)! I really love the attention to detail and animations and I'm excited for the future of it!
someone i know is interested in getting on a Vintage story server, but they want a snake-person model before they do it, i hope that comes about in the next few months, i think they might like the game.
ahhhhh i want to be bunny girl so bad but still not updated... I will be waiting patiently
Hey! Would you be able to add a config via configlib to your mod for custom size scaling? playermodel lib itself has an example apparently!
I've noticed that vintage story has some weird bugs when it comes to camera and sleeping in general (often scooting along the floor, etc) so I'm hoping that's some normal bugginess that works itself out. Let me know if it's a consistent issue though!
As for the rest of the stuff, hair color, face shapes, necklaces, etc, I'll look into it or reach out to the mod maker to see if I can make a patch mod for them.
As a small Longshank, when I sleep my camera goes back to the default height. Using CO, if that matters. Was wondering if theres a known fix for this or just an issue with the 1.20.12 version?
Love the mod tho, 100% my group's new favorite!
EDIT: For whatever reason, this only happened the first three times I slept. After that its been 100% fine with no issues.
Hey I have a issue with the reload animations for the windlass crossbow and guns that use slugs for ammo added by Maltiez's firearms and crossbow mods the wepons still work but the animation is goofy. Would be great if there is a fix for this.
I'm sad this doesn't work with Old Face 2D
I was curious is there a way to get the Reworked Seraph Faces to work on the newer iterations? Ive since downgraded back down and everything is working just dandy, I was just curious cause the newer Playerlibs seem to break Reworked faces all together, if its too much work to do Im fine waddling in the past files xD Im in a happy spot where most of my mods are working while I wait for a stable 1.21 to break it all xDD
This is my favorite mod now. I wanted something like that for so long. Made few notes:
1. Necklaces. They clips with breasts.
2: Colors don't match, that's sad. Even the whitest hair still darker than my white wolf ears.
3. Alphas (don't know about others) have two styles. Small tail, standing ears. big fluffy tail, but one ear is down. I prefer big fluffy tail and standing ears. Someone will want small tail and lowered ear, more options is always good.
4: Maybe different breasts size, like in female seraph mod? Don't sure, that may request major models rework.
Can you add lime green cat ears with pink inside along with lime green cat tail with a pink tip be added? Also, amazing mod! Keep up the great work.
Mods' great so far, but I'm curious about eye color. For instance, I was experimenting with the hellhound set and something that bugged me is that VS's eye colors are very lackluster. You have like, what feels like 4 colors but with a bunch of different shades. Nothing even close to a reddish brown or something that doesn't feel... conflicting.
I installed eyesofmesana and found that while it works for Seraphs, it doesn't apply to the BoM character models :(
Of course, no rush if you're already busy with stuff, but will this be something added to the mod moving forward? Either compatability with EoM or somehow allowing the character selection to represent a much more diverse range of eye colors.
Thank you for this mod, it's an addition I did not expect yet welcome all the same!!!
out of curiosity, what kind of traits are you thinking of for the races? I'd figure the Windstriders get some form of slow-fall, and the hoppers get higher jump height or reduced fall damage?
ZAMUDARA Rustbound magic is definitely one of the mods I'm looking to make work with BoM! (Small characters will also clip through the clothes).
kolyanix You're a fucking legend!
For big girls lovers — you can change arms height position in game settings\interface. Works fine with CO.
just fyi the model's lady bits do stick out of the armour from rustbound magic
its not a prticularily big issue but it never hurts to mention it
great mod though i love it
windstrider gang
Ooooh, I see the problem now. Yeah, that's an issue with bigger models rather than the smaller ones then. Okay, so there is definitely not just Combat Overhaul, but Combat Overhaul will be effected by it because of its fluid and intense animation based gameplay. I'll see if Maltiez has an idea to fix it as it doesn't seem to get fixed by his no hands mod.
Resizing the entire model does work with vanilla animations due to how the resizing process works both in the way I manually did it for Longshanks and the way the slider works, but CO animations are a different beast entirely and much more involved in the way the game works when running that mod.
To explain the issue a bit, the game has a very specific way it handles first person camera point of view. Your character model, while in first person, is rendering in your game like
So my best guess is that the issue is one of camera position then and the way combat overhaul handles animations. Right now, the only fix I can suggest is avoiding larger model sizes or learning to fight in 3rd person (which works surprisingly well with CO) until I figure out how to patch in a fix for this, as I think Maltiez is mostly saving a lot of the updates for playermodellib for 1.21's update that is supposedly rapidly approaching. Porting a bunch of things back to 1.20 is complicated for mods of that sort. Worst case scenario, I can work on messing with the animations and see if there's a reasonable fix for it.

Can I get a full modlist from either Mr_DewmTheKid or Geist? I'm going through some of the issues mentioned and I'm not noticing any camera bugs besides some potentially reasonable issues with longshanks having a bit of a different framing of things (which I'll probably go ahead and try to fix, seems like they just need their eyes lowered a bit. Things should seem bigger to them rather than smaller, after all? But if arms are getting in the way I need to figure out why)

Also please state the version of game you're playing on so I know which version to test through.
Additionally, I have the patch for CO:Armory for those asking for it. https://news.kalataka.ru/bomcoa
Hey im noticing the mouse model causing issues with crossbow mod and the firearm mod. the camera seems to get bugged and the animations are off. when switching to a standard character model the camera bug persisits. i went as far as to disable playerlib all together and that fixed it but after its turned back on the issue returns. it puts the stock of the gun in the players face. im not sure if thats a BoM issue or a playerlib issue. either way I thought id let you know about it.
The mod was specifically Combat Pverhaul:Armory. The only armors i checked was lether and the grass armor you can make early game. just as a reference.
How did you go about doing it? Im curious about the process and programs you use to resize clothes for the smaller race because i was considereing taking a crack at it out of curiosity.
 The Mod https://news.kalataka.ru/armory
Some modded clothes won't work with the smaller race. I'll probably go through CO and a bunch of the other big ones and patch in proper sizes for them. Currently workign on traits, but fixing up some mod compatibility shouldn't be hard.
Hey man, love the mod. The longshank has some bad clipping with armor when using Combat Overhaul. i suspect its because CO uses its own armor slots. When I turned the mod off the armor fit like normal.

Okay these should actually work lol
Edit: It also might be due to a conflict with combat overhaul? as i believe they might change some animations(?)
When i get back to my pc i'll have to test it out
That's a link to your own C: drive. I'll need something hosted on a site. I can see it's on your onedrive, but you'll need a URL for that.

Don't know how to attach images but i believe this link will work
Also the Smaller player models (longshank at the smallest) seem to be fucked aswell

is there any fix for the arms being fucked up on larger player models?

hey, can't seem to find the 0.29 version of the player model lib?
Edit:nvm just updated for me.
Geist Trying to get the mod working with the latest update of playermodellib and in that one, sizing them down to the smallest a mouse can be can let them fit through a 1-high block hole. Right now, they can fit snugly through a chiseled hole the size of one and a half vertical slabs in height.
are there any plans to make the mouse race to be small enough to go into 1 block high areas? if not could we get a rat race that could? dreaming about living my rat days in a cavern
It would be great to get to use the current Seraph skin tones with these races. Any plans to add those?
something im hoping for/looking forward to
*dragons and moths/butterflies*
cus A: - i play as a dragon lol
and
B: - some of my friends play as a moth and wont play unless he can.. lol
but really good mod, loving it so far, keep up the good work!
*cheers*
FirefoxEzo for 1.20.12 use 0.0.12 version of the lib, 0.0.13 for 1.21
Been trying to get this to work on 1.20.12 but will not load using playermodel 0.0.13. Iattempted to run only this and the dependency but only version of playermodel that loads this is version 0.0.25 and 0.0.26 but they dont have any textures. I can get many other mods working except this one properly for even single player.
I'm not sure if I missed something, but with all the dependencies installed for the 1.20.12 version I'm on (I triple checked that Beasts, PlayerLib and the Female Seraph mods all were on the 1.20.12 version of the mods) I get the character select options for everything, but none of the textures seem to load for any of the bodies besides the basegame one and everything is just pure white. Got any idea what could be causing it?
Edit: Disregard; I just realized I missed the big, fat text saying not to update past 0.13 of the player lib mod unless specifically told to do so on the mod page.
DocOrKirb I had a similar problem until I manually installed the file and extracted the folder into my mods folder. Not sure if that'll help, but if you throw me your mod list then I can test it out to see if it's a you issue or a bigger problem that could use fixing.
Also, make sure to get the right version of player model lib for your game version. The one that's one-click on the page is for pre-1 rather than stable.
hey so im trying to get this mod to work but am having trouble i have the dependancy but the options just aint showing up is there something i missed?
