Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.20.12 and 1.21.1, potentially outdated):
disableclassesV1.20.12-1.0.0.zip
1-click install
Disable any of the vanilla classes on a fresh world.
Intended for server owners and others who wish to disable certain classes from the game.
Dependencies:
How to use:
- Start a fresh world to generate the config file. It will be found in the ModConfig folder, inside your data folder, named "disableclasses.yaml"
- While in the game, press esc and then "Mods settings"
- Find the config named "Disable Classes"
- Tick off any class you wish to disable (screenshot shows Commoner disabled)
- Save your config!
- Restart the world, or create a new world with the now disabled classed removed (Note: recommended to start a new world)
You can also edit the file in any text editor, in case you want to make any changes without having to start the game again.
Compability:
-
- Allclasses
- The Working Classes
If you chose to be the same class you disable, eg. Commoner, on the first startup, and then restart the same world after saving the config, it will crash.
Make sure you choose to be a class that will still be in the game, if you wish to use the same world after the initial startup procedure.

On my server, for some reason, classes keep appearing for some people. And this causes a crash when they select one.
? ok thx

I'm afraid that's out of the scope of this mod.
With this, is it possible to grant permission to a specific person to have the class?

I'll have a look to see what's going on. Thank you for reporting this issue, appreciate the feedback.
This does not seem to work on 1.21.1 multiplayer servers. Maybe something has changed? I am on a fresh server running only this mod and its dependencies.
This server error seems to be related:
[Server Warning] Failed to find vanilla classes: commoner, dont remove vanilla classes (set 'enabled' attribute to 'false' instead), it will cause incompatibility with other mods that change classes, that can result in crashes.
I also notice the menu items look a bit different from the screenshot you have posted: (does not seem to let me post image)
The classses are listed as "disableclasses:setting-commoner-class" etc. instead of just "commoner"
