Seal a chicken egg in a barrel with one liter of dye (pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple) and leave it for four hours to get a colorful holiday egg! The eggs can be placed on the ground to hide them for egg hunts.

As of version 2, there are two types of eggs: "sturdy" eggs (blocks) and "slippery" eggs (entities). The sturdy eggs can be placed on the ground and will stay where you put them, while the slippery ones can be pushed around to hide them in tall grass and dark corners. Convert between types by dropping them in the crafting grid. The eggs are no longer edible. (Slippery ones will simply despawn 10 minutes after being placed in the world if they are not broken and there are no players nearby.)
